The first shot that appeared to go in must have hit the outside back of the net. After i saw it i stood up and yelled because i thought it was a goal. Man did i feel awkward when play kept going. I didn't see any celebration by the shooter let alone an argument over whether it went in or not. The first goal BG did score was off a goalie error. OSU's goalie thought he had it covered, but it was a foot from the goal to his left and thankfully BG capitalized.
It was a great game for Horrell. He was challenged all night long and the shot totals increased faster and faster as the game went on. He didn't allow osu many rebound opportunities.
OSwho looked like they had higher overall awareness during the game, but the lapses that occurred really left the goalie out to dry. BG stayed avoided mistakes in their zone by icing the puck more often.
Strategy and persistance won this game. i wish i could go to tonights, but i wont be back in bg untill later. It felt great heading out of the arena. My mom is an osu alum and was at the game too and that was a bonus once i found her walking out.
Falcons Win!!!!!!!!

First time poster, glad to finally be on the board. Former BGSU student. Really enjoyed last nights game. Probably the most complete game I've seen from the Falcons in the 6 years I've been following them. A couple of points and observations.
1) Much improved defense last night by the Falcons then the last time I saw them play OSU at the Schott. I can count on probably 3 fingers the number of odd man rushes OSU was able to generate this time out, compared what seemed like 20 the last time. Glad to see Pooch got that straightened out.
2) I've only seen two games this year, both against OSU, but Horrell seems to be the guy that needs to be in goal. Another outstanding job last night, except for the "non-catch" goal. I definetly feel more comfortable with him back there.
3) I thought the guys who took over for Mattsy last night did a good job of keeping that line agressive and attacking. I really like Foster's skating skills and ability create chances for not only himself but his teammates. I can see why he leads the nation in assists and is top 3 in scoring. I expect to see him in the NHL someday, especially with the new rules, smaller quicker skilled guys are needed, and he fits that mold.
4) I was very impressed with how the entire team played with intesity the entire game. I love that they are up on the bench the entire game, as opposed to OSU who just got up on the bench for the 3rd period. I was especially impressed with how they withstood the OSU "energy" at the beginning of the 3rd. OSU really came out fired up and with aggression trying to squash any momentum BG might have. After the initial five minutes of the 3rd, when nothing transpired for OSU, they really seemed to have that deer in the headlights look of, "Uh, these boys are here to play" Again, 3 years ago, we would have never withstood the storm. Now we are.
Overall, regardless of the record, these boys are the hardest playing, most skilled team I've seen in 6 years. Goaltending and defense seem to have lapses, but if last night was any indication, those things are on the up and up. Keep it up Pooch and BoyS
