maybe this is just me being hopeful...in fact im pretty sure it is...but i have a gut feeling that this guy is going to end up being the type of coach we need and i think our team will be much better than people expect for the upcoming season

We still got one of our guys running the team and he's a guy who loves this program. You're hoping the sky falls rather than seeing the positives of where this program will be in 5 years. Some of us do see the silver lining and it's a pretty cool thought.

But hey, if you want to keep pissing in everyone's Cheerios then carry on. Just don't be surprised if you make more enemies than friends.

Congrats to Coach Williams, you'll do a helluva job.
Pulse? I don't think anyone will disagree that it is pretty faint right now like it or not.

Look, I have been a follower of Falcon hockey since the late 70's and I would hate to see it go as much as anyone.

That being said, this coach will have next to no chance to make this work if the interim tag is left on him for the whole season. He will not be able to recruit worth a damn! And that's been the whole problem all along. Schools like OSU and Miami got commitments in terms of $$$ from their administrations and made huge strides on the national level while we sat idly by and let the program crumble.

And don't expect a huge influx of cash from the locals. The unemployment rate in Wood County is pretty high and the locals won't support the program unless it wins and wins a lot. That is a ton of pressure to put on an interim coach.

I'm with RWT on this one...unless they are willing to get behind this guy 100% (remove the interim tag ASAP) and start putting some $$$ into the program, he will likely fair no better than Pooch.

For some reason I have that song playing in my head from the Wizard of Oz when the witch dies and all the little people start singing...."ding dong the witch is dead the wicked witch....ding dong the wicked witch is deadddd"

Thats how happy I am that paulich is gone.

scotty bowman couldnt bring our team to the top without other changes that are hopefully soon approaching, we need something that sets us (the program AND the school) apart in the eyes of recruits besides "hey we have a great coach"

“We’re going to have a group to work on the arena and a group to work on the program,” McPhee said.

He added: “I think we can get right back up to that [championship] level again.”
-George McPhee.
the money is coming, myself included has a hard time seeing that this is all going to be for betterment of falcon hockey. We need to keep the faith.

that sounds like some good news, I think we can get back to that level with some hard work, money, and help for the program. Now we have a new crop of players and a young new coach who has proven himself at the DIII level.
