Northern Michigan got beat this afternoon ....................result, the conference is now a one bid conference once again. Hopes of three teams or even two was just that, speculation and a dream. Back to reality, one bid conference. Whoever wins the league tournament.

It's a one bid conference if Minnesota State wins the tournament. If NMU does, or we do, then Minnesota State would still likely get an at-large bid.unfalconbelievable wrote:Northern Michigan got beat this afternoon ....................result, the conference is now a one bid conference once again. A ran a simulator with Minnesota State losing 3 games and they still would make the tournament. So the conference could still get 2 teams in.
What's sickening is the Big 10 only has 7 teams in their conference and 6 of the 7 are in Pairwise Top 16.

What's sickening is how bad the WCHA is. 5 of the bottom 11 teams are in the WCHA, and last time I checked the WCHA had the lowest average RPI.gmartin wrote:A ran a simulator with Minnesota State losing 3 games and they still would make the tournament. So the conference could still get 2 teams in.

You've got four programs in the WCHA that may not be around 5-10 years from now. I would expect the Alaska programs to consolidate at some point, Huntsville has had their struggles to maintain and Lake Superior is kind of where BG was 12-14 years ago. Ferris is having a down year but you'd expect them to return to relevancy soon. Everyone else has been steady. If you trim the fat you have a much more competitive conference with more games against better competition.BGhockeyfan94 wrote:What's sickening is how bad the WCHA is. 5 of the bottom 11 teams are in the WCHA, and last time I checked the WCHA had the lowest average RPI.gmartin wrote:A ran a simulator with Minnesota State losing 3 games and they still would make the tournament. The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
