End of 2...score is BG 2, msu 3. We were down 2-0, but continued to battle hard, and came back with two goals (by Cepis and Petruska). Then msu got another one.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

BG loses, 6-3, with an empty net. We played well, but gave away the chances that they capitalized on. Goals by Cepis, Petruska and McIlrath.

GO FALCONS!!
WIN SENIOR NIGHT!!!!

Can somebody tell me what happened to our power play tonight? This is only the 3rd game I've seen this year and while I do not know a lot about hockey, I was nervous that MSU would score on our power play every time. What gives?

Abdelkader, the Red Wings prospect absolutely was dominant tonight. His line with Kennedy and Mueller is just dominant. They'll be tough to knock off in the tourney once again.

well it was pretty cool to go up to michigan state and watch the falcons play hockey. i though they played well tonight.

the thing that sucked again was the ride home! it took us 4hrs to get home from East Lansing. we were not on the roads very long when all the sudden everyone is stopping. We stop and sit on I-96 for about and one and half hours (i think) it was crazy. we got out and walked around. The roads were just pure ice. Finally they got the accidents clear and some salt trucks show up. We get to go. But not to far from Ann Arbor/Ypsi, we got stuck in one major snow storm~ The visablitiy was down to negative(if that can happen) I couldnt even see the front of my car it was so bad.
But we made it back to BG safely so that is all good.

Crazy snow/ice storm coming home from Nebraska getting stuck in Iowa, now 4 hr trip home from East Lansings. I think old man winter doesn't like us. lol

That drive home from MSU is rough enough. Good to hear you guys got back safe though.

From the 1 period I got to listen to, it just sounds like we got overpowered and couldn't provide the D support for a VERY good MSU team.

MSU could easily repeat this year if they can finish off Big Blue.

Oh BourbonFalcon....you have much to learn about (the lack of) BG's power play.

In the many years I've followed BG hockey, this was the worst effort I've ever seen. We had a lot of guys out there that seemed to be playing for stats and didn't have any communication. It's really hard to come out on Senior Night and have no emotion, but we somehow did it.

There's one guy on this team that I can't stand watching anymore. He dives all the time, dances with the puck, and does nothing to help his team. I'm not going to name name's, but we should have known considering how he was coming into the school.

This better be the best damn week of practice we've ever had to come back and win this series.

That was a really poor effort tonight, but I was very upset in the fact that the fan enthusiasm was about the same. Most of the fans weren't regulars (I noticed this because I could actually hear my own voice in the student section through the entire game, not just the third period being down that many goals). I also really wanted Whitty to get that point. I'm hoping for solid practices, maybe some yelling and calling of a candy ass, and some wins next weekend!

PM me if you'd really like to know, but there's no reason to throw an individual under the bus when the team belonged under the axles.

Personally, from ice level, I didn't think our effort was all that horrible. MSU is a very good team. There is a reason they are the defending national champions. The first goal, Spratt was hung out to dry. The third goal he really had no chance as he was screened by about 3 or 4 people, and whoever it was that was covering the guy with the puck bit hard on a fake. I didn't see the second goal as it was at the other end. It felt like we controlled a lot of the game tonight. We just didn't finish by putting the puck in the net.

Lerg played a great game. The MSU defense played a great game. When we would get the puck in the zone, it was like they had an extra guy back. They are very fast. There is a lot more speed on that team than ours. As much as I hate to say it, for the first time this year it feels like we got beat by a better team. It didn't seem like it after the UM, Miami, or ND games. But it does after this game. MSU is the only team this year that has actually convinced me that we can get outskilled.

As for naming Maxwell, too many times this year, and at least two opportunities tonight, he has been wide open with the puck and a clean shot at the net only to turn the puck over without even attempting a shot. That is not how you win games. It's almost like he is afraid to score. I just don't get it. He has a great shot. He is one of the better puck handlers on the team. He just doesn't shoot the puck. He has the potential to be a great player and I really don't want to see anything less.
