rood- I wasn't jumping on the coaches for a kid changing his mind...I was saying that the coaching staff was BEYOND rude to him when he was here for a camp a few summers ago. I was just gathering info on what he was up to now and if we had given him a look. We don't know if he was given a look by BG, but Jack Parker and his staff felt he deserved a look and he signed with BU. Maybe we offered too and he changed his mind, I have no idea. My irritation comes from the behavior of this staff towards this kid...a brother of a former Falcon. I wish the best for him, although it would've been fun to carry on the Scooby nickname.

Re: Holy Cow!!
I'd say that averaging 2 points per game in the OPJHL is equivalent to averaging around 1 point per game in the USHL, if even that. Kevin Schmidt averaged over a point per game in his last year of junior there and he's only really had one good offensive year here. Look at Dan Sexton, he never even came close to a point per game in the USHL and he's putting up a point per game in his sophomore year of college hockey. James McIntosh is another example. He tore up that league and he's scored 2 points this year.Spectator wrote:Sorry, I am not sure how, but I missed your post regarding Pagau.
His numbers do look incredible. I am not familiar with the overall quality of the league, but he has eye popping numbers. I looked at the scoring leaders in the league and he is at the top of the charts.
With that being said, hopefully this Pageau kid turns out to be pretty good. Him along with Samuels-Thomas should help us out next year with the loss of Svendsen and Cepis.
DWhite21, I hope that his numbers equate to good numbers in the CCHA. Replacing Svendsen will be a challenge. Where did he play jr hockey? We all want the team to improve, so I hope that Samuels-Thomas and Pageau can add a little more. Factoring in the maturity of all the returning players and getting a solid goaltender should help propel this team next year.
Does anybody know if Rodriguez is going to play another year of jrs?

The more I look at numbers for this year, I would think that replacing lost goals by Svendsen is not the biggest concern for next year. BG was near the middle in goals for, but they were dead last in goals allowed. Maybe shoring up team defense and goaltending will have the most positive impact on standings for next season.
Replacing Svendsen's goals and assists will be a challenge but the biggest challenge will be to Not allow as many pucks in our net.

I looked at a few of the past leading scorers from the OPJHL. So with the caveat that anything, good or bad, can happen take this for what you will.DWhite21 wrote:

Fred Cassiani - 89 points his last year in OPJHL -- 19 points as a freshman at LSSU
Scott Freeman - 97 points his last year in OPJHL -- 16 and 26 points in two years at Clarkson (leads team this year)
David McIntyre - 92 points his last year in OPJHL -- 17, 32, and 46 points in three years at Colgate (leads team this year)
Louie Caporusso - 85 points his last year in OPJHL (38 games) -- 21 and 43 points at Michigan (leads team this year)
I never could figure out what happened with McIntosh this year. He never seemed to click with his linemates.
Quickly comparing McIntosh and Cassinni, besides the point differential their last year in jrs (25 pts), Cassinni is two years older then McIntosh. That would explain the difference in production as freshmen. I believe McIntosh ended jrs with 64 points and Cassinni ended with 89 points. Cassinni was third in the league in scoring and McIntosh was tied for 31st. Pageau is a bit older when he enters CCHA play and that may equate to quicker success. IMHO
New Goalie for next season
Here's the new goalie: http://tinyurl.com/newbggoalie
Played with Cameron Sinclair during the 07-08 season and the number one goalie in the BCHL this year.
2.30 GAA in a league that the average team scores 3.4 goals per game. This is the same league that Jordan Sigalet and NMU's Brian Stewart came from.

ok... not quite one of the goalies on my radar but his name isn't phil Greer so that's good. He does have more Greerish numbers in previous seasons though.Spectator wrote:That is cool. He looks like he could do well. I am pumped!!!rood wrote:Here's the new goalie: http://tinyurl.com/newbggoalie
