Game winner was played with a hand pass and shouldn't have counted. Sucky way to lose a game.

As exhausted as I was after this game, I can't begin to imagine how tired the boys are. We had a great BG fan showing at the Joe! :supz: And it was very cool that Bergeron had the boys give us fans a stick salute before they left the ice!

Can't begin to say how VERY, VERY proud I am of these guys! The played their hearts out and gave us one helluva post season run. The icing on the cake would be to beat the redhacks tomorrow!!

SO PROUD TO BE A FALCON HOCKEY FAN!!!
Beat Rico's boys!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

First, props to the CCHA. They put on a great event at the Joe. Aside from some issues navigating the arena and parking situation it really went well.

Here's the postgame presser:

The boys gave it their all and the BG fans were loud and almost made it a home game for them. Aside from the results a great, unexpected run.

It was not a hand pass. It was close. He almost grabbed the puck but someone's stick hit the puck before his hand grabbed it. It was a legit goal.

The RUNS NOT OVER FOLKS..........The Falcons haven't won a CCHA Tournament Game at the Joe since 88-89 season beating Illinois Chicago in the consolation game. It would be nice to cap the season off and shed that monkey off the programs back. More work to do today, let's cheer these guys onto a win at the JOE. These young group have already proven alot the second half of the year. Let's send the seniors off with a good showing up at the game and BEAT J CREW U.

Last night’s game was overall pretty solid for the Falcons. They had a breakdown late in the second period when they failed to clear the zone that resulted on the first Michigan goal on a strange shot, bouncing and through traffic. Hammond looked really solid and confident and none of the goals were bad goals. The Falcons played really well until Michigan starting turning things up down by two and also BG shifted into more of a defense first mode, which overall I don’t think was the correct idea (it can hurt even the best teams). After the game was tied and went into overtime BG came out of their defensive mode and began getting chances again. I think we’ve cleared one hurdle in the rebuilding process last night and over the last few weeks.- we can play with the big boys with skill and confidence. Next step is developing a killer attitude against the top programs and getting more Ws against ranked opponents; and not backing off but continuing to play solid, smart, hard hitting, aggressive BG Hockey.
