Football rules the Freak when it comes to BGSU but Hockey is the sport that has produced the biggest results and put BGSU on the map. When I was there from 86-90, the football team didn't do anything. HOWEVER, going to hockey games was the bomb...and they kicked ASS. They were winning 30+ games every year, winning CCHA titles and making noise in the NCAA's. We had to wait in line for 3 HOURS before faceoff just to get a seat. And we had a blast out there waiting. When that Ice Arena gets rockin', look out.
Marketing should be all over the Hockey program...
Looking forward to the season....Return to Glory is inevitable. Coach Paluch is a pure Falcon and knows the tradition and past success. Look for BG to keep climbing the CCHA ladder.
If you've never been to a hockey game, you have no clue what you're missing. I still have tons to learn about the game but it is very exciting and fast paced. And they have beer in the Arena Lounge for Falcon Club members!
