Michigan scores 2 goals on 2 min to take the lead. That's the game I was worried about.

Don't look good feathered fans. Minnesota State took the lead late in the 3rd.

Big 3rd period for Minnesota State.....................need a great comeback from Mich Tech.

Though whatever happens, it was a fun and exciting season. Progress is the key and we made that this year.

According to my calculations RIT's win eliminates any chance we may have had.
Nice job Wayne and Brian.

Actually RIT and Denver HELPED us because it allowed SCSU to beat Miami. RIT was an automatic qualifier anyways.

The Michigan Tech lost hurt us.

Actually losing 3 weeks ago to Lake Superior was the dagger

And to make things worse every team that we needed to win tonight, plus Denver which gave us a little insurance, all won, with the exception of Michigan Tech.

BG could have won last night and none of this would have mattered. THAT is the worst part.

Falcon hockey fans are now experiencing what fans of our women's basketball team has gone through seemingly every other year since 2008.

This sucks.

Next year the depth of the conference will be better. LSSU, Alaska, Ferris, and Bemidji will be tougher games. Not that they won't be beatable, but the team isn't going to be able to be inconsistent and get away with it next year. This year there were a few series where we came out flat in game 1 or 2 and other teams didn't have the skill to make the BG pay for it. I don't think they'll be able to get away with that next year.

This was from collegehockeynews.com on there final bracket predictions

"Poor Bowling Green, which hasn't made the NCAAs in 20 years, was the last team out with an RPI of .0002 worse than Providence."

Didn't turn out the way anyone wanted...but congrats to the team and coach Bergeron on what has to be viewed as a successful season. Congrats to you diehards that pulled the program out of the trash bin and helped bring it back to relevance.

Hopefully....next year will include a WCHA title and a trip to the NCAA's

Actually, it's not the same. College hockey is very open about the selection process. The pairwise rankings are what they are. There's no human opinion involved. It's not a matter of waiting to see if you're included in the bracket. It's knowing you are or are not. Even the seedings are fairly cut and dried. Mankato will be in South Bend. North Dakota will be in Fargo, etc. Pretty much the only human input to the seedings is avoiding inter-conference matchups, and some movements for attendance reasons. We all knew exactly what had to happen for the team to make it. It didn't, we've all accepted it.

It was a great season that met almost everyone's expectations. It was an improvement on last year, win total went up, nationally ranked most of the season, won a first round playoff game (only team in the nation to do that every year for the last 5 years), first team to miss the NCAAs. Next season, my opinion is at least one win is needed at the conference championships (I refuse to call it by its current name), and making the NCAA tournament. Anything less than that should feel like a disappointment.

We'll see what the next few days bring. It sucks worrying about early departures, but it's part of college hockey. While I don't think anybody had an absolutely stellar stand out season, a lot of guys played good solid hockey, and could get some interest. I won't be surprised at all if the 4 seniors who played all year end up on ECHL teams for the rest of the season.
