I follow other writers and beat guys covering teams/the sport, but John Buccigross will be working the reveal tonight, so I think his commentary is relevant.

He just tweeted, “This bracket will SURPRISE folks...FUN...see the reveal on @ESPNU at 7:00 eastern time!! #CawlidgeHawkey”

I have no idea what it means, but the suspense is getting to me. Today has dragged.

I still wonder if a "bubble" team that had had zero Covid issues all season might be more attractive to the committee than another "bubble" team that has had to shut down at least once. They are all ready being considered, so will that play into it?

Notre Dame got in. I'm guessing BG is out.

Bucci promised us a surprise, and he didn't disappoint.

Notre Dame got in. That's insane.

Still 2 more regionals to reveal, and we haven't seen LSSU or Mankato yet.

BG misses. Bemidji beat them out.

Bemidji, Notre Dame, and Omaha got the last 3 spots.

I think we should've been in over Notre Dame, but I can live with it.

Let's win games next year.

BG didn’t deserve to get in, but Notre Dame definitely did not deserve it either. That’s solely for viewership with the BC/ND match up

Benefits of being a nationally recognized program.

I'd say this should light a fire under the hockey program's ass but given how this season ended I doubt anyone cares much.

ND went 0-3-1 against Wisconsin, 2-2-0 against Minnesota, and 2-2-0 against Michigan. They gave up 6 goals against Penn State last time out.

5-11-1 at home and they made the tournament. Unreal.

So ND went 4-7-1 against tournament teams, BG went 3-6-2. Pretty comparable. Decision probably came down to eyeballs given the BC/ND rivalry.

Would it be inappropriate to send a couple Covid positive hookers to Bemidji as congratulations? Asking for a friend...

Oh well.

My final word is that everyone who is going to be on the roster next year along with the coaches need to do some serious soul searching this summer. Went from being a top five team to missing the tournament in six weeks. It's incredibly disappointing. Not sure how soon the program will get another shot.

You’re absolutely right. This is one of the worst collapses I’ve ever seen, but we earned it and we’ll wear it going into next year. Hoping we get it figured out and finally put an end to the roller coaster seasons.

Young team next year. Very young. Would love to see them improve as the year goes on and play their best hockey at the end of the season.
