Not sure I saw this posted anywhere but Cam Babiak landed with Adrian. The Bulldog’s are ranked #1 in the DIII preseason poll after going 31-1 and winning the natty this past season. He’ll make his return to the Slate Oct 22.

Ferris blows the outright win with a minute left but hangs on for the tie. CCHA is currently undefeated in OOC play (until the fighting Rico’s get smashed by St. Cloud). Another long season in store for the Miami State faithful.

The exhibition with Adrian this Saturday is cancelled with no makeup date. Not a huge surprise given the number of injuries though it was an opportunity to get the offense and PP figured out.

I think it's incredibly likely that we would've had a hard time putting a full lineup of guys out there for this one, so I'm glad the guys are getting an extra week to rest up and get healthy for Mankato next weekend. We have a lot of work to do.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:33 am The exhibition with Adrian this Saturday is cancelled with no makeup date. Eigner at the Red Wings/Kings game tonight. Rob Blake GM, Sean Walker playing tonight.

I'd be willing to bet this game is the season opener for next season.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:33 am The exhibition with Adrian this Saturday is cancelled with no makeup date. Silly that the NCAA doesn't allow for every team to open the year with an exhibition.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:34 pmI'd be willing to bet this game is the season opener for next season.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:33 am The exhibition with Adrian this Saturday is cancelled with no makeup date. Re: 2022-2023 Season
NCAA sets the date that the first games can be played. Whether that's exhibition or real is up to the teams to figure out. Had the new rule allowing exhibition contests between NCAA schools been announced prior to this season's schedule being set, it probably would have been the opening game. I don't think there's much interest in playing a Canadian school right now, so that leaves the USNTDP team, which has a busy schedule themselves. I just wish the NCAA would have went one step further in their exhibition rule and made it not apply for teams in the same division. A D1 team should not be able to play another D1 team in an "exhibition" contest. D1 vs D2 or D3 is more appropriate use of the rule.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:46 pm

Re: 2022-2023 Season
I fully understand that the NCAA sets the dates, but I have one idea here:
I think it would be nice if they allowed teams to start a week early and play a preseason game (exhibition) in late September. They could go a step further and do that, but they haven't done it so far. I get that the whole starting in October thing is somewhat sacred, but I think allowing teams to have an exhibition before that would be nice. And there's no real reason I can think of not to allow it.

Coach said they only had 11 skaters in practice the other day. Not a good sign this early in the season.mbenecke wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 11:31 amI think it's incredibly likely that we would've had a hard time putting a full lineup of guys out there for this one, so I'm glad the guys are getting an extra week to rest up and get healthy for Mankato next weekend. Re: 2022-2023 Season
I would imagine part of that is bad luck, but part of it could also be the quick schedule to start. We played a Saturday/Sunday, then had a short week to get to a Friday/Saturday, and then had another short week to play a Thursday/Friday. I think missing those extra days or rest and preparation have probably had an impact on the team’s overall health so far. So, hopefully they can get right over this free weekend and they’re ready to go next weekend in Mankato.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 10:58 amCoach said they only had 11 skaters in practice the other day. Chase Danol's line is 7/4/11 in 4 games with the clubbers. They take on Shithole University tonight at the Ice House, my old stomping grounds.
