Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread
Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread
Ron Fogarty is out at Princeton.
Trying to figure out if Princeton is a more or less attractive job than BG.

I would think facilities and funding would be much better at BG. I also imagine recruiting to an Ivy League school is no picnic.

Miami's AD must have over slept this morning if Princeton beat them to the punch today.

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread
McMahon mentioned this evening that BG has contacted Louis Mass about the job. Former player from 97-01, worked with Dennis Williams at Everett. Spent time as an assistant with Anchorage. Currently with the Barracuda in the AHL.
He's been out of the college game for some time, feel like BG can do better.
Apparently CSA has cast a wide net for the search so I expect it to take some time.

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread
I remember when Mass came out of the box as the first penalty of a 5 on 3. Play was in BG defensive zone. He played forward for about 10 seconds, dropped down to play D for about 20 seconds (already 2 D out there), then went to the bench for a change with the puck still in the D zone, and second penalty not expired. It was comical to watch, and even more comical watching the other players' faces when when Buddy called him out on it during intermission. Don't remember the year, but I'm fairly certain they killed it off and were at least tied in the game. Playing other positions became a focus of practice the next week.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 12:43 am McMahon mentioned this evening that BG has contacted Louis Mass about the job. He's obviously learned a lot since then to get where he is now. Interesting that he was the Strength & Conditioning coach while also the Assistant Coach during his time with the Alaskan ECHL team.

Eric Lang's season ended tonight. If he's the hire, it could happen this week.

Re: Eigner Fired - Coaching Search Thread
All eyes on the next few weeks, especially if no announcement comes this week. Would likely indicate BG is interested in someone currently employed with a tournament team.
The idea of Lang is enticing but I don't see him leaving AIC for a marginal increase in pay. They're in better position than BG, and in a weaker conference.

McMahon posits in this blog last night that Adam Krug at Adrian could be in the running for one or more openings. and expects Bill Muckalt to be a finalist for one or more of the openings as well.

Now McMahon posts a hire is imminent.
I've heard Berge's name has had some rumblings attached to it.
