Do they let students sit in section A? I thought they kept them all in section E or F, whichever is the one by the player entrance.
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: The Bleacher Creatures are Back!
I realize I'm now considered old and all but what happened to the crowds at BG hockey games?
When I was in school (72-76) the arena was almost always sold out and it got really loud. There was no band (I believe there was an organ) and there wasn't an organized cheering section that I'm aware of. But the crowds could get pretty raucous, depending on who the opponent was. The OSU games were always very loud and intense.
I hope they can find a way to bring back ways to (1) sell out and (2) get crowds more involved in the games so the arena becomes a place the students want to go to for games. If a program becomes successful and the team exciting, it's obviously easier to get them involved.
Perhaps that's why things were as they were when I was in school: hockey was still relatively new, and students were excited about it. Plus, the team was starting to become pretty good.

Re: The Bleacher Creatures are Back!
Students can pretty much sit where ever they want in the area, they just have to move if someone comes in with a ticket and that is their seat. A lot of students who don't cheer, but just want to sit and enjoy the game don't sit in the student section.
As for as the crowds, they are slowly coming back. I am not seeing any huge drops in attendance numbers, so I don't think we are doing too bad. As far as selling out, I don't know how likely that is. With the economy the way it is and so many other sporting events going on at once, it is hard to get a lot of people to the hockey games. Last year, both games in the Michigan series were pretty well sold out, and both of those games were extremely loud and fun. I wish we could get those kinds of numbers every game, but for now, we are working one creating a solid student section that will be there every game. I think we are getting better, but we are not yet at the point that we want to be.
