I would think a stress puck would be one flying in your direction at 70 mph.

BG vs. Miami hockey

This is going to be the first hockey game that I will watch. What are some of the things to watch for and to keep track of. The closest I have ever been to a hockey game was being in a design class with Paul Connel, and where will most of the BG hockey fans be pregaming at.

The stress pucks were just foam covered in black rubber, what a jip. Didn't even have any falcon insignia on it that I could remember...

Actually I think you had to buy a ticket to get one and being a student I had no reason to do that so I didn't get one.

Not a lot of pregaming for hockey, but if you're in or know someone who's in the Falcon Club, go to the Ice Arena Lounge for a couple of pops before the game.

If you really want to appreciate the game, watch at least one period the way Paul Connel's dad watched them all - stand at the glass in the corner. BG's glass is available at the south end.

After that, roam around. Just remember hockey fan etiquette, don't move in and out of seats while the game is on - wait for a ref's whistle which will signal stoppage of play.

Just keep track of the puck. If it comes toward you, duck!

If memory serves me correctly students got t-shirts on Saturday while fans that paid got the stress pucks. And since I paid and got one they did have a falcon logo on them as well as meijer logo. Mine came in very handy this morning on a Monday.
I don't understand what you're complaining about as a student. You got a t-shirt.
Great crowd by the way on Saturday too. Anyone hit up skate with the falcons last night? How was it?

I watched 2 periods of Sat night's game from the glass....I haven't done that in some time. Gives ya a whole different perspective of the game.

Skate with the Falcons was very cool! More people than last year. Skated around with the boys for a half an hour, than got Pizza and Soda. All the guys sat at tables and you just went down the line and got them to autograph a team picture. I thought the marketing guys did a great job with it. If your a Falcons Hockey fan, you should really try to get to this. It's your chance to get "Up Close" with the boys. They are all very friendly and approachable.

As the only (as far as I could tell) person over 10 who asked the guys for autographs while skating around the rink, i'd say it was pretty great. :D
I got as many autographs as I could and got a little closer look and idea of the attitudes of the players. It was a lot of fun to see Matsumoto, Foster and Whitmore racing/chasing little kids and taking group pictures. Also cool to see my impression of Pilkington as a clown being totally confirmed.
I had a lot of fun, and so did Sarah (my girlfriend) although she was too star-struck/embarrased by me to actually talk to anyone.
