The two referees that ive heard everyone say that their jobs should be taken are Murphy and Sheegos. IMO it's basically a pick your poison but i would dread Sheegos more than Murphy. What do you all think?

Sheegos as long as we're not playing Michigan.

was sheegos the official for the michigan? i didnt realize because i wasnt close to the ice like i usually am

Hall usually sucks. I hate Piatroski the most. He hates BG and doesn't try to hide it, especially when we play scUM or the egg suckers. People on USCHO have said he is one of the best, but I totally disagree. Pi is real hot head and it shows at times.

The games I've been to w/ Pi this year have been pretty good. He told MSU's coach to go f*** off which I thought was pretty cool. Shegos is Shegos, Murphy is worse. Hall really bugged me this weekend with all the stuff he let go.

Although Sheegos tries to be neutral to his Alma Mater, he just can't help it. I remember a couple of UM/BG games when he was wearing the black and white, but it was painfully obvious that he was wearing Maize and Blue boxers.

I wouldn't wish Shegos on my worst enemy....err...wait. Yeah I would. OSU can burn in flames, since OU only has a club team. That's another subject.

We can all take heart in the fact that there is only 1 Shegos around anymore.

Piot hasn't been TOO bad this year. Hall = awful the last time he was in Goggin. You know it's bad when you're looking at your fellow fan wondering why he even called that on the other team!!!

it's a tough choice, they are both terrible, but I have to go with Shegos, he is worst in my opinion

I'm going with Murphy because he officiated the game against Clarkson earlier this year in which he lost complete control. There were some very questionable calls early in the game and by the third period when the teams started getting feisty he had no control of the game. That was a hockey game in which the ref had no control of what was happening between the players. Clarkson played with no class and was dirty and he let things get out of hand. I'll never forget that game.

You should've been in BG Friday night....18 penalties first two periods and none in the third.

Anyways, so far, I've only been able to place two refs with their alma maters:

Piotrowski - Ferris State
Shegos - scUM (tried walking on in early 80's but got cut)
Hall - ?
Landis - ?
Wilkins - ?
McInchak - State Trooper in Michigan
Murphy - Isn't he a ref from out east? Not even a CCHA ref.

Anybody add to this list?

Piotrowski is a great guy with a good sense of humor. I have talked with him numerous times and found him to be a likeable guy.

You really need to watch CCHA games that BG is not playing in to get a true assessment of officials. You can't make good judgements about hockey officials when your emotions for your team are at play.

Yep, it was b/w the 2nd and 3rd when they played down here this year. MSU coach (his name escapes me..) went right over to him as his ugly team was leaving the ice, and the words right off Pio's lips were "Go f*** off." Absolutely histerical.

Nope, he's in the CCHA. He's listed on www.ccha.com

I still miss Duke Shegos, he was pretty fair. Anyone remember the likes of Roger Graff or Matt Shell? haha.
