Thoughts, predictions, expectations :?: What are they? I know some Miami fans frequent here, what are your thoughts on this series?

Well, I think the team that scores the most goals in the game is going to win. And I think if both teams score the same amount of goals in one of the games, it will end up a tie :)

Seriously, having seen neither team play I don't want to make predictions.

I have games to work Thurs-Sat and I thought "Hey, that would be a good chance to go see BG on Friday! I could drive 12 hours home, watch the game, and drive 12 hours back." And I would do it, too.

But then I looked close at the schedule and that series is Thurs-Sat. too. Drat! I dunno who conspired so dramatically to ensure that I couldn't see the Falcons at least once this year, but may they burn in hell!

It's a tough call and it depends on which team shows up. We haven't done well this year on the first night of a series for some reason. But, since the first game is on Thursday, maybe this one will be different.

We have the ability.....do we have the desire?

Having seen both teams..... and stating again that I am a BG fan before I am a Miami fan...... I think Miami will sweep us.

However, I would hope we could get a split by winning Thursday's game. Goggin has been rocking and has been a tough venue for visiting team.
I will be there Saturday night with Nicholas and PGY.

This Miami team is the real deal. They remind me of the great BG teams of the early 80's. I kid you not. They skate well, pass crisply, and just play a great game.

So for me overall, I want to see the Redhawks go all the way to the National Championship. Unfortunately, it will be at the expense of my beloved Falcons this year.

Just please don't drill through the cooling pipes at intermission this time. That's all I ask.

(Oh, and beating the crap out of the Foreskinhawks would be nice, too!)

All I know about Miami is that they're number 3 in the nation in the USA Today poll. I am definately going to the game. I am hoping for a great crowd and a great game.

Would I love to see the Hawks sweep? Sure. But in all honesty, I predict a tie/loss tomorrow night and a win on Saturday.

Reasons:

1. Thursday will be Miami's 4th game in 9 days. Ohio State last Tuesday, two emotional letdowns in Munn (hardly anyone wins there anyway) over the weekend, and now tomorrow. Nearly every team, or maybe all of them, in the CCHA had to do this sometime during the year. That's a lot when you are used to playing 2 nights a week.

2. Being the Hunted. Miami has been hunted for awhile now this season and playing against BG will be no exception. If the BG players can't get up for this game, I don't see them (BG) even sniffing the 2nd round of the tourney.

3. Complacency. As stated earlier, it's hard to win in the Munn. However, when having captured the crown with 4 games left, the mindset changes completely. We all do that at some point in our life in anything we might do. I don't think the zeal was there last weekend and it may not be there tomorrow.

4. Saturday = win. If they don't, it will be unfortunate, but the emotions will be crazy. Like Tuesday against OSU, there was a different feeling in the air. Adrenaline will help them a ton.

We'll see. These teams have a stange history against each other. When Miami is at the pinnacle of their potential, it seems to be BG knocking them down. I guess we've got you in basketball. Men's at least.

Almost everything I was going to say was said in this post. BG likes to ruin senior nights for other teams (at least scUM seems to think so), so Saturday should be a very good game.

After last week's performance, if tonight was any game other than Sr night, I think Spratt starts. But since it is Sr night, I see Horrell in net and on top of his game. Hopefully, boys in front of him will be also. It'd be nice to see every SR have a chance to play tonight (including Frazee  ).

Thats a great analysis, Mr. Madden...

As for RedHawks comments... I find it interesting that you see us as bogging down when you guys are on a run, considering the mediocre season we've had. I definitely think that this being your 4th game in 9 days will have an effect on your guys, both mentally and physically. Not sure if I expect a win out of our guys this weekend, but I'll sure be rooting for them. :)
