Well, a couple of you did, anyway.

There is a reasonable chance I will be doing color for one or more of UMass Lowell's playoff games in Maine this weekend. Our regular color guy will not be making the trip, which means I am free to go on the air.

Whether or not I do depends entirely on my health, which hasn't been so good lately. But I figured I'd give you a heads up, since it will likely be a day-of-game decision for me. (It depends mostly on whether or not I have a voice and how bad the coughing is).

The link for our broadcast is here: http://www.goriverhawks.com/listenwuml.htm
The station is WUML radio (just in case the link doesn't work for whatever reason).

Okay, who is with me in the chat during the broadcast?

Of course you realize you will have to log onto the chat room so that you may read our ribbing of you.

:-D

In all seriousness, that's great. I wish you the best of luck, of course.

I'll be there. Just name the time!

Games are at 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday.
And Sunday, if necessary, but I'm pretty sure we'll sweep!! :D

I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism. I've never heard myself on the air and I'm sure I sound like... well, I don't know what I sound like.

Wow. You got fired before you even started.

You're good.

McConvey -

Bleeding and I listened some tonight and we were kind. Wish we could have heard more of you rather than your play by play guy. I can only imagine how hard it would be to get a word in edge-wise on him.

I was switching between you and the Miami-Western game during the second.

Job well done. Go RiverHawks

Yeah, McConvey, you really sounded like a pro! If you ever felt like it, you could probably do color full time if you wished. I must admit, though, I was kind of surprised that you are a member of the fairer sex, but it was a pleasant surprise. I guess it just goes to prove the annonymity of the internet!

Seriously, though, you should have smacked that other guy for cutting you off so much. He was really funny when he would yell, though. Especially during that fight at the end of the second period.

Let us know if you have any more games coming up during the playoffs. It was not only fun to listen to one of our own, but it kind of helped me get over my severe depression that has set in ever since last Saturday night...

Thank you for your kind words, gentlemen.

I actually get really nervous going on the radio. I usually prefer to be behind the scenes and radio is very public.
And I appreciate the feedback. I've never heard one the broadcasts after the fact, so I have no idea how I sound doing color.

I dunno if you caught it or not, but at the beginning of the third period (right as we were coming back from intermission) I said hello to all the Bowling Green people listening :)

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and give some feedback.

Dude, I don't know how to take that...

I guess I'll take it as a compliment. 8)

You should, because that is how I meant it. I swear to you, I retyped that sentence about 14 times in an effort to make it not sound sexist, because I didn't want it to come off that way at all.

I was very serious when I said that you could do this professionally if you wanted to. You really had some wonderful insight into the game, and came off as more knowledgable about hockey than many male color analysts I've ever heard. Have you ever listened to color commentators for NHL games? Many of them are ridiculous twits that just make stupid comments every now and then. Covering hockey is not easy, and I would say that you made a lot of the "pros" look like amatures. Good on ya!

SOMEONE hasn't been paying attention for the last six months.....

Wish I could have heard a bit of ya tonight, McC, but the drinking started a bit earlier than I figured... and God love Indiana and their 3:30 last call, btw.
