Wisconsin beat Boston College 2-1 to take NCAA Title.

Post by FalconBlue »

All-American defenseman Tom Gilbert's third-period power-play goal turned out to be the game winner as Wisconsin beat Boston College, 2-1, to win its sixth national championship and its first since 1990 — this one coming near to home, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. ... Also powering the Badgers to the title were Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player Robbie Earl, whose third goal of the Frozen Four knotted the score at 1, and netminder Brian Elliott, who allowed just three goals in two games.

Wisconsin earned head coach Mike Eaves his first NCAA title in his fourth year behind the Badger bench, while BC fell just one win short of completing an improbable, impressive run through the tournament with a championship.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back now and then to make sure it's still there.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Congrats to Kevin! I do feel for coach York. I would have been happier to see BC win.

So, what's the over/under of the belly-aching of "quality coaches keep leaving the program to win-we can't win-we need facilites-we need recruits-why can't we recruit players like Wisconsin-we need to get attendence up-no one cares where we were we're bad now-we need to find Paluch and run him out of town - WE'RE DOOMED!"?* I'm guessing sometime today. As soon as the youn 'uns sleep off the "Natti Light" from last night.

That was a very good game. i will lay wager that for the next two years BC is back in the 4 when all is said and done and that they win at least one. god how i wish the olympics would drop the noncaring loser ass pros..what a bunch of panzis...id back any of the teams from the 4 in the olympics before i would ever put my faith in the pros.

As for BG...its gona be long row to ho. But were working on it. keep the faith.
