I would like to say i am sorry if anything has been posted about the 06-07 schedule.

i have issue with this"In this year's cluster the Falcons will play four games each with Alaska Fairbanks (Dec. 8-9 and Jan. 26-27), Nebraska-Omaha (Dec. 1-2 and Jan. 12-13) and Notre Dame (Nov. 10-11 and Feb. 2-3)."
\knowing full well nothng can be done about it this year, but in the future I would rather see us broaden our horizions, and the CCHA for that matter. get the black Bears on here and drop this 4 game ND series to two game. Get the gophers on here and drop N-O to a two game series.
I hate probaseball becasue they play same teams over and over and over and over...it just gets old, it would seem to me to be better and more interesting to play some more teams from other confernces when we can instead of 4 game series like this.

The problem is the nature of the cluster system. Each team in the CCHA has a permanent cluster "mate". Ours is Notre Dame so we play them 4 times every year. The other two rotate. Unfortuanately for us our "other two" this year happen to be the farthest away adding to transportation costs and travel time. IMO UNO and AF should never be scheduled as such. As far as I'm concerned neither of these teams belongs in the CCHA. I'd rather shrink the league back down to where we play two series with each team in a season. If not that, find a better solution to the problem than this cluster f--- of a system.

Let's not forget that our first "permanent" cluster mate was scUM. That was until it was realized that scUM and MSU wouldn't be playing each other 50 times a year.

The cluster system is better than the last solution the league had when teams played each other team 3 times. That ended up with 3 games in 3 days when teams travelled to UAF or UNO (I don't know if UNO was around for that though). With that system, teams always felt slighted because where 2 of the 3 games were played.

I agree with BGFan that the league needs to be scaled back, or the season needs to be longer. The longer season would allow two series against every other team but would involve a trip to Nebraska AND Alaska every year. As well as two trips to the UP.

yeah i agree that the cluster system sucks and would also like to see the league shrink back down. We could easily do with 10 teams, good riddance UNO and UAF.

With all that being said.. our schedule really bites this year. Seems like a ton of travel with the east coast trip, @ UNO, UAF and NMU (I swear NMU never seems to play road games). It will definitely be a test for our falcons, but I'm sure they're up to it!

At least when we come back from Alaska, we don't have to get ready to play Blue or Green, like most years in the past. They boys get a few weeks off to recover, study for finals and get ready for part II of the season.
