"The Gwinnett Gladiators added two more forwards to an increasingly talented stable.
The defending American Conference champions announced the signings of two 6-foot rookie forwards, Brett Pilkington and Bruce Mulherin, on Tuesday.
Pilkington, a 22-year-old center, comes to the Gladiators after completing his senior season at Bowling Green State University where he was third on the team in scoring with 29 points in 36 games. Despite being eliminated by eventual champion Denver University, Pilkington helped the Falcons to the 2004 NCAA Hockey Championship Tournament, Bowling Green’s first appearance since 1997.
The native of Calgary, Alberta, finished his collegiate career with 91 points in 131 collegiate games.
“He’s a solid two-way player with good skill,” Gwinnett head coach Jeff Pyle said. “He’s a character kid. He’ll play any role we ask him to play. I think he’s going to be a surprise.” "

It obviously a typo. However, in 2004-05, the team did do well and got home-ice for the CCHA tournament (#5 seed) for the first time since the mid-nineties.
