uscho.com ccha predictions

Post by dannyk »

I was just looking through the fan predictions on the CCHA thread and we are not getting any love at all. Most have us in last or near the bottom. Does anyone know when the CCHA releases their official preseason rankings?

None of that shocks me. We're still a major work in progress before we get any respect. We gotta earn it.

We're a young team, but I really think we're going to shock some teams. I think practice starts here in a few days, so the pre-season rankings will probably be coming in the next couple of weeks.

Due to the length of the season coach run practices aren't allowed until about a week or so before the season starts. That doesn't mean, however, that the captains can't schedule practices.

Preseason rankings mean jack crap. The lower everybody expects you to finish the better. It's a motivational tool. I would hate to be a preseason favorite.

We have grown, we will grow more, we will not finish in last, or first. At times we will bask in the splendor of the return of BGSU Falcon Hockey, at times we will be ppissed wondering where our guys are.

It will be a great season.

Falcon Boy is correct 100%. BGSU has no respect. The respect we earned in the 70's and 80's is all gone and meaningles. These kids must earn it all over again. i think they can.

I believe captain run practices have already started. I stopped in today for a look at the new boards and there was a scrimmage going on with no coaches in sight. Pic:

That pic was from Friday? Surprised to see them in regular practice gear, usually before "official" practices, they wear anything available....maybe they're a bit more organized this year!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
