Yeah, it is definately better to be where we are than up at the top given the developmental nature of our program right now. Also, good to see Moto getting some love. I can't believe he's a junior - it seems like just yesterday I was screaming "FREEEESHMAAAAAAAAN!!!" when he would get a breakaway...
Oh, and did I miss media day? I forgot all about it.

congrats to matsy. The rest of you people on here, even the league and all the reporters(who know all the facts) see what I have been trying to tell you people. I am SORRY to say but I wouldn't hold your brreath for a CCHA top 6 finish.

It would be better to be ranked higher lets not kid ourselves. Granted the games are not played on paper but its not like they are pulling teams names out of a hat.
I dont think the Oakland Raiders were thinking that it was great to be picked close to last in the preseason NFL poll.
Just as Michigan will not finish in 7th, I think a realstic finish for us would be around 8th place if we can sure up the D-zone and goaltending a bit.
The poll is relevant

It's relevant in as much as it gives the CCHA website some updated content.
Congrats

Definately congrats to Moto, good job buddy, hopefully you will tear it up so you can get out and play for someone who can actually teach you something.
How weird that we get ranked 11th overall. That should tell you people something. Paluch is going into his 5th season as head coach and we are still getting ranked as one of the worse teams in the league. He has 4 of his own recruited classes and still no progress. how long are you all willing to loose until it starts to sink in that he just flat out stinks at what he does?
These polls do mean a lot. Every year he says the same thing "They are a motivational tool, they do not mean anything" YEAH RIGHT, that is the biggest bunch of crap i have ever heard.
What will be your GOLDEN BOY Paluch's excuse this year when he has another loosing season? Who will he blame this time for his poor caoching ability's?

He locks one thread to get away from the endless running in circles with you guys so you just keep jerking away in others. Give it a rest, you're obviously not going to convince anyone of anything, especially not until we've played a few games.

I'm sorry to say BG in 11th place would be my homer pick, if I were to predict the end-of-season standings. I was shocked as heck at last season's dismal finish, and, now that we've lost Foster and the better of last season's goaltenders, I don't see much hope for this season.

Trust me, Spratt is a good goaltender. Horrell had his moments but inconsistency was a big problem. Spratt has gotten into shape and is much, much faster than when he came in last year. Watching him at the Brown and Orange game was like watching a totally different goal tender than last year. I can't fault any of the goals he allowed on him. They were both rebound goals with traffic in front of him and no chance to cover them.

I think we are primed to finish a strong 6. Heres why. The whining Srs from last year are gone, who thought they should be given wins and played horifcly with out guts. Our Goal tending will markedly improved, to the point that I say we might well have a shot at #4. The teams got a strong positive attitude, the coaches are strong and smart and our net minding will be greatly improved, the extent of which will play a large factor in our ending spot. Some great new D players will be good contributors as well...I think we may even an old school enforcer on this squad...and that will be wellcome change.

His credentials in junior hockey and the people in the USHL I asked about Spratt led me to be a bit let down by his performance last season. Glad he is getting back on track to be the tremendous netminder he was touted as when we signed him.

Macman, you are my source of humor most days, whenever I am lucky enough to read your posts. First off, this years team is missing out on about 100 points from last years senior class. A deficit that I hardly doubt the freshman class will be able to make up, if what I have heard about them is true. Second, Horrell was the better of the two goalies last year (look at the 3 defensive player of the year awards won), so the goaltending has definately not gone up. Please tell me what you are on, cause I really need to get some. You predictions and analysis is completely wrong!! You are a fool and its makes my head hurt to hear what you have to say.

I like the optimism Macman but I would not stretch things up to 4th place.
When you make predicitons just think in terms of if you would put money on it. When you come to a place where you would not place a bet, then that is your best educated prediction.
I dont think that we can get above 9th place. Remember the enforcement of the new rules means alot of PP action, and 1 minute 5-3's are very common. I think we will be losing alot of 6-3, 7-4 games this year.

Wow. And all this time I thought
predictions and analysis of this sort couldn't be wrong until at least part of the season is played! What a fool I've been!
