easy weekend
easy weekend
This weekend should be a two for sure wins. Uconn should be beat by at least 5 or 6 and Alabama should be beat by at least 3 or 4. This is not a good test of what the hockey team will be like, this is no better than playing Windsor. Both these teams suck and should get beat easily. Although if they have good coaching, that could make a huge difference. I have seen pooch lose it for tthe Falcon fans before in situations like this. EX. swept by Alaska in the playoffs.

UConn hockey doesn't even have scholarship athletes, despite being in Division I. They are more like a good club team playing in Division I. But even a good club team would get clobbered against DI competition, which is exactly what happens most of the time. Not sure why their program is still in the developing stages, they certainly have a huge budget. All the b-ball pub and a brand new Football stadium, but it seems hockey is an afterthought there.

Shows us all what this asshat knows. Bigdog, I've seen you trash the way this team played in a couple of other threads, and your ignorance - especially for someone who supposedly played hockey - is astounding. You probably didn't see either of these games because, I would guess, you are too busy sitting in a basement somewhere, pissed that Pooch didn't punch your ticket to the NHL, so let me fill you in on something: goaltending is HUGE in the game of hockey. UConn's goalie stood on his freakin' head on Friday night, and honestly, I'm amazed that we were able to get something past him in OT. He made an amazing save on a Matsumoto wrister late in the third, and I thought that it was really cool to see Jonathan pull him aside after the handshakes and give him his due props. Of course, you didn't see this.
Also, what I saw in today's game was a team playing with an absolute TON of heart, which is a huge difference from last year. Yes, some early (very early) breakdowns led to a 3-0 deficit, but as the guys on the postgame show said today, there is nothing harder in hockey to overcome than trailing by three, and it said a whole heck of a lot about this team to stay motivated and hungry throughout this game when faced with that kind of adversity. Of course, all you saw was the box score, but there are no stats to express guts and determination in the box score. My guess is that, even if they were in there, you would have no idea how to read them anyhow...
You've said a lot of sh*t around here over the past several months but, in my opinion, you have never been more out of line in bashing your [supposedly] former teamates after this weekend. They fought harder than any team you ever played for.
