REDHAWKS "SWEEP", Falcons are shut out 3-0.

Redhawks prove to be superior in all aspects of the game tonight except shots on net. The game tonight was more even but once again the Defense could not clear the man from in front of the net and that was the difference.

Fogerty thinks the effort was great and that Zatkoff was the difference in the loss. I guess a positive "spin" always sounds better. Last night's comment was " we lost to the #7 ranked team" which is true but it almost sounds like it's a reason to lose.
I don't get it, losing should not be good enough.

We outshot Miami all night..... We should have put one in the net.

The first Miami goal was on the PP and we were changing the line...... Zatkoff saw it, qickly passed the puck down ice and that was about all she wrote.

Miami screened Spratt all night and our defense let it happen. The second goal, Jimmy never saw it..... But Jimmy should have been directing his defenders..... or so you would think.

The last goal was a rebounder and was right in from of Spratt. I have to wonder about his vision of the field.

The Falcons played tough all night...... Nicholas and I thought some of the penaltys called on BG were cheesy. I would have liked to see Neville play and it hurts not having Unger on the ice.

good luck next week. We seem to be skating in the right direction.

just back from oxford. good effort by both teams. bg had sustained energy throughout but though they again had more than 30 shots (impressive) there wasn't much that really tested zatkoff and miami kind of just waited for opportunities. i think the difference between the two teams is maybe experience and i think our best players - davis, jones, martinez are simply better than bg's - right now. matsumoto looked a little lost without foster and i think he's still getting comfortable with his newlinemates (he also needs a haircut!). bg has some excellent skaters and that will cause teams trouble throughout the year. i think they're going to continue to improve.

hope you liked our new rink. we're really excited about the promise it holds for the program.

see you guys at the ohio hockey classic at nationwide arena! haven't decided if i'm coming to the doyt but after today's abysmal performances by both gridiron squads, i'm thinking not.

The guys played all night, unlike last year.
This team is soiid and coming on up, nothing is automatic. While I expected a split, the sweep is a reality and I am proud of the play this falcon team had both nights.

And you can't judge every game's performance based on a win or loss.

especially in hockey...

It sounds like many positives came out of the weekend, despite the losses. Much to build on as we head into the series with the Lakers!!

GO ICERS!!
SWEEP THE LAKERS!!!

you guys sound like you are Pooch talking about how there are positives to build on. Although it may be partly true. The team got swept!! And shutout!! Most people were predicting a split, instead lost both but now it seems from your people's comments that its ok. You people on here talk about how the team needs to win, all I hear on this is excuses as to why they lost. Who cares they lost!! There is one thing I have noticed and is probably one of the main reasons that the majority of you love Pooch and that is excuses. I have never heard so many excuses as to why the team loses than I have when Pooch talks. That is until I come on here. The BG fans shouldn't be satisfied with just competing with teams anymore. It should be win or there are changes that need to be made. Falconblue said it properly that the coaches made a bunch of excuses but why is that shocking, it has been going on for 4 years now.

What does Greg Christopher think of your opinion since you've obviously talked to him?

how about the play by Neville in Game 1? 41 saves. I think the one positive we found in this series is that we've found our goalie. Defence has been suspect for the past few years, however, things seem to be looking up as this Miami team IS an elite program.

I really don't think you are paying attention to this board and just want to believe your perceptions of reality. You remind me very much of the average UT fan.

Most people stated they would have been HAPPY with a split. They weren't predicting it. HUGE difference. Just about everyone knew it was going to be a tough series. I, myself, predicted a sweep at the hands of the Redskins.

Those quotes are from people from this board, not "professionals". I could say that we're going to win the rest of our games this year...does that mean you are going to use that as fact if we were to lose once. Can you please explain all the excuses we and Pooch have been making?

I don't agree with much of bigdog's tone or the carrying on, but a little light research is a wonderful thing.

Strongly worded replies like this when the evidence is about eight threads down the page do nothing to contribute to discussion, regardless of how destructive they are. That said, I will never mock a fellow fan for looking at any game/match/series optimistically.
