Apology and plea

First, I'd like to apologize to all of you on this forum. Although I'm not the only one, I've been key in continuing to fuel this pissing match with the former players and it really hasn't helped matters any.
Second, I'd like to apologize to just the former players. Many, if not all of you have been over to my house on several occasions and I've enjoyed your company. My reactions to all of this have been too strong. In the future I would suggest a different approach to venting your problems and complaints. Coming on here and bashing the coach and program without revealing that you were former players with a beef isn't the best way to broach a subject.
For what ever reason, you don't want to reveal yourselves and I can appreciate that. I'm not sure why since you're no longer in the program, but I can appreciate it. You need to realize, however, that, if you do you'll lend a whole lot more credence to your claims.
BGathletics24, I admire you for going to bat for your friends but you really need to calm down and back off a little. I realize that I said a few things in my response to your email that were harsh, but they were said in the heat of the moment and, as with all things of that manner, I regret some of the things that I wrote. Please accept this as a public apology. Know that I give my support to the team freely and would like to see all of the members of the team succeed beyond school.
bigdog, thanks for reeling yourself in a little. I enjoy your insights into the game and the team. I may not always agree with them, but I enjoy them nonetheless.
Now for the plea. We all need to stop this nonsense, end the stupid, unjustified attacks, and discuss this in a civil manner. That is one of the reasons this board exists. Trash talking and the like do nothing to move this matter forward and only serves to fuel the fire and widen the gap that now exists. (And I'm equally to blame for it.) From this point forward I'm going to ignore attacks from either side because it's the only thing that I can do to not fuel them. If the former players and/or other members of this board want to discuss it openly and freely WITHOUT name calling and trash talking, I'm all ears (or eyes as the case may be), otherwise I'll refrain from commenting.
My suggestion to the moderators would be to lock any and all threads that currently exist on this subject since they're going nowhere quick. I would also suggest that threads beginning with lines such as "When are we going to fire Pooch" be locked immediately after they're started because they're guaranteed to degrade to the same type of BS about as fast as you can count to ten. In that manner you can help to keep this civil, because if we do we may actually get somewhere.
