The fact that they beat the #1 team in the country right off the bat may have had something to do with that.

Our dead last finish last year is probably had the biggest impact.

I cant wait for the day were in mix again, the ice house rocking and when you leave you feel as if you have just been in the front at the monsters of Rock tour.

FWIW, 3 of their top 5 scorers are freshmen and sophomores. His overall record and reputation make it much easier for him to recruit. God knows it isn't their facilities.

For many years I have thought that ND was a potential giant in NCAA hockey. With their international reputation (even if it is earned outside of hockey), direct connections to top prep schools, and their obscenely deep pockets, it was only a matter of them making a commitment to hockey. To their credit they made the commitment...starting with hiring a supremely qualified. high-profile head coach. If I were a betting man, I'd bet there will be a nice new rink there within 5 years.

Freddie I agree...

Just like the commitment to reshaping their football program 2 years ago they now have the same approach to hockey. Their goal is to "WIN" and be among the Elite hockey programs in the Nation.
