Falcons ranked 25th

Post by BGSUfanatUT »

We retained our vote in the polls this week, which keeps us at the #25 spot. Keep it up Falcons!

How high do you think we could get in those rankings exactly? I know our team has done nothing but get better the last few years so I'd love to see us up in the top 10 or 15.

Depends on how well the team does....seeing them in the poll itself is great, though!

Yeah it really depends on our play. the College hockey polls, unlike the football polls, are actually quite accurate. WInning a big game will boos tyou but not from unranked to top 15 like it can in football, conversely, losing to a top 5 team doesnt drop you to the basement, sometimes you may even GAIN votes for playing them well.

I think it will be very hard for us to crack the actual poll (top 15 in hockey) but Given that we could start solid, maybe the other voters will see what our lone supporter sees and give us some lovin too. I would expect another CCHA team to be in the top 15 at the end of the year as well as the ones there stay there.

I remember BG was ranked as high as #6 in the nation in the mid-1990s when I was in school. Those were some fun days to spend in the ice arena! Hopefully, we'll have more days like that again.
GO BG!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I hope you are right FF! Having all the sports teams excel is great for the school! (now only if men's soccer would follow suit)
