This Forum Sucks

This used to be a great place of camaraderie with a lot of people who were fans of the team and despite the season, this was a good place to talk to others.
Now, it's horrible. I no longer enjoy coming to this forum. Many of the "regulars" no longer enjoy coming to this forum. Hell, the guy who owns this site doesn't like coming to these forums because of how negative they've all become.
What happened to a nice play to come talk about a love we all have? Don't we see enough negative crap outside of this site
I understand that former players feel they have an agenda. However, you all should realize by now that we DO NOT CARE how you feel. Nothing you will say will change my mind, nor the minds of others here. You come here looking for a fight and hope some fairweather stumbles here and blindly goes with your belief.
A-Z-Z.com is not the Athletic Director's office. We do not speak for or represent the views of BGSU. You want a change in leadership? Talk to them. The football coach fiasco has proved that when it comes to money matters, the AD does not listen to us. Get used to it. Unless you're willing to put up the 100k or so it would take to remove Paluch, please, let us have our one little spot where it doesn't suck to be a fan of this University.

Seconded. This has gotten totally out of hand, no matter how justified some people think their views are. There has been some reasoned talk from bigdog and a couple of others lately which has been great, but others are just showing up now to cause problems, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
I have often read the complaint that this forum is "one-sided" from posters like Frozen Orange, and that may very well be true. The fact of the matter is, though, we are fans and nothing more. If you do not like the tenor of this board, fine, but do not wage a war of attrition to try and punish people for being fans. That is exactly what has been happening over the past few weeks, and it seems to get worse every single day.
I'm getting very tired of not seeing posts from people the regulars around here. The regulars are the backbone of this forum, and also of the Falcon Hockey fanbase. If you can not respect that, then you have no business being here. I can't even remember the last time I saw a post in this forum that had a "go BG" theme. Quite frankly, all of you on the "fire the coach" bandwagon have made this forum look and feel like an opponent's forum. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You are ruining something very, very good.

Yes some of the fire the coach stuff has gotten out of hand but at least people still care enough to try and find the problem. Its kind of hard to come on here and say great game night after night. I guess its hard to be positive all the time because right now this team is an absolute mess.

Danny, it isn't a matter of being positive all the time. The problem has become people saying the same thing over and over again, and doing it in every thread that anyone starts. Everytime I click on this forum there are 5-8 active threads with people saying the same exact things. We all know that things are a mess right now. Thanks. Great. We get it.
Enough.

This thread is a perfect example of what I'm talking about:

This is at
least the third time I have seen this "joke" posted by you or someone else. I'm not trying to pick on you, specifically, danny, just trying to show an example.

A different point of view kills you "Cool Aid" drinkers. All jokes aside BGDrew you must expect the younger generation who have been directly affected by the hockey program (Paluch) to feel differently from you "Good old day's, Old Timers.
These are young men who came to this school based on the tradition of the Hockey Program, who were promised a dynamic program in the ascendancy and frankly got shafted. Many of these players were looking at playing hockey after college, but AP (after Paluch) have nowhere to go. Should they be bitter? It’s personal I think.
What the Hockey Program has to realize is that on cannot keep selling a program whose success came 22 years ago.
If this forum cannot support dissenting opinions it should shut down or stipulate that the discussion should only be about jerseys, tickets at Ohio State, the cheering section or the band.
The Hockey players and Fans could move to:

What is there to be positive about?

I'll admit it. I'm a glass half-empty kind of guy, but what is there to be positive about? I am new and the reason I've come to this forum is because I am concerned about the program. I want to know why this team continues to get its teeth kicked in week after week.
If there is a silver lining somewhere, please let me know.

Funny thing though, BGDrew isn't an old-timer. And neither are a good handful of us.

What happened to locking every thread other than the "fire the coach" thread that devolved into that discussion?
I'm usually firmly on the side of "screw you guys, let everyone post whatever the hell they want", but in here almost every thread gets dominated by the extremely agressive anti-Pooch crowd. It's not that they're necessarily wrong, just omnipresent.

Bleeding Orange I appreciate your concern but if we cant laugh at ourselves every now and then when things are tough, what are we to do?

Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of this site if you are only allowed to say stuff that is nice about the team. If you want someone to wipe your *** and tell you everything is going to be alright, then go hang out at Paluch's house. The fact of the matter is that the team sucks!!! and Bad!!! What could you possibly say that is positive about a team that has lost 11 of the last 12. Face reality.

bigdog, no one is trying to silence anyone or deny anything. All Drew and I are saying is that 90% of this stuff being posted over and over again in every thread is totally unnescessary. Like I said, we get it. We are all paying attention to this season, and we don't need you or anyone else to constantly remind us that things suck right now, and nothing you say in here, no matter how much you say it, is going to change a thing. This is why I'm getting tired of it, and, based on how much people like Falcon Fanatic, BGFan, FlagCityFalcon and others are posting, I would be willing to guess that they feel the same way.
With all due respect, you don't seem to have very much respect for how others feel.

i'm sorry all your friends aren't posting but looking at the other side of the coin. There seems to be many new faces on here, maybe becuase it is a good place to blow off steam.

Yes, bigdog, there are a lot of new posters which is great. Unfortunately, most of them post in selfish, disrespectful, and dictatorial manners.

I agree some of the way that people talk on here is disrepectful, however some people take it personally when there are a difference of opinion. Also others just get fustrated with stubburness of some people to change. There are a lot of us out there that just can't get how people see certain aspects that are killing BG hockey. Thats mostly where the harsh words come from.
