9th Straight Loss…

Post by FalconBlue »

9th Straight loss, 4-3 to Alaska. Matsumoto has 2 goals and Todd McIlrath scores his 2nd goal of the season. The Falcons gave up 4 offensive penalties while on the Power Play.

Reading the AP story at BGSUFalcons.com, sounds like the boys played well. I hope BGBill gets a chance to post and give us a first-hand account of the game.

Maybe we can carry the momentum from last night into tonight's game and peg a loss on UAF.

It sounded like they really did play well, other than a few costly penalties. And Spratt played VERY well, unfortunately so did their goalie. And scoring first is HUGE, as is getting two more goals after being down 4-1!! Small steps lead to bigger ones!!!! YAY!!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I agree that it way better than the other games we have been a part of lately. I also agree that Alaska is a very hard place to play with the tavelling and such. But it is still a loss, hopefully they can overcome it tonight.

After nine losses there isn't much to be optimistic about. BidDog may not like Pooch, he is still a Falcon and has friends on the team. I'm certain he isn't rooting against the Falcons.

Give us some insight as to what it's like to fly all the way up there and play. What's the toughest part of the whole trip? I am thrilled that the guys get time off after this trip. Usually we come back to play MSU or UM and we have barely recovered from it. :?

I certainly don't question Bigdog's desire to see the team win despite his obvious feelings about Pooch.

One thing that Palluch did, apparently, do well with was the time out following Alaska's fourth goal. Don't know what he said, but the guys came out strong after that and battled to the buzzer.

It is good that they will get some time off from hockey to rest and recover, but it is a bummer that they have exam week immediately after the Alaska road trip. Sleep will truly be at a minimum. Good luck on finals fellas.
