First, I don't know if he reads this forum but I wanted to thank Andy for helping to make my first time in the booth as enjoyable as possible. I learned alot and hopefully anyone who heard my commentary didn't turn the station immediately.

Now, onto the OHC.

Miami is a tough, tough opponent. Effinger would start anywhere else in the nation but he tends to be a 1a type of guy. BG held the "stars" of Miami about as well as you could hope, but the team is so deep that if one guy isn't producing someone else is able to step up.

Minnesota-Duluth is a very big and physical team. They might have a disappointing record but they have a boat load of talent and are still figuring out how to play as a team. BG just wasn't able to convert the opportunities they had, and the score honestly could have been a lot worse had it not been for Spratt.

Hopefully everyone who made the trip down had an enjoyable time and we'll get back to it Friday night.

Pretty disappointing.

The Duluth game was the first one I've had a chance to watch in person and it was pretty tough to watch. Obviously there were a few highlights (McIlrath's goal was pretty sweet), but so much sloppy play. So many power plays that just sputtered.

The PP is a situation that's been bad for a while and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. They struggled like a battered push cart to get through the neutral zone. They struggled to move the puck when they finnally did get set up and then no one would be in front of the net on the couple of occasions when a shot got through. Don't know who to blame. Don't care. Just fix it.

Maybe I'm a sore loser and the acidic taste of another loss has me angry, but I thought the guys could have skated a little harder tonight. Tough thing to judge sometimes, but I didn't see a sense of urgency.

Really thought this one would be a win.
