All I know is we were tied 2-2 after 2. Had one waved off by Ref not in right place. Third period must have been ugly.

SOG by period

AF: 13 - 14 - 15 = 42
BG: 1 - 12 - 5 = 18

*shakes head*

The remarkable thing is, we come out in the first and get manhandled. We're lucky to be down by 1 and we'd only taken 1 shot. Then, coming out in the second, we have some fire, we play less conservative, and our first two shots find the back of the net.
Then, back to business as usual.

I don't even know what to say. I thought we had it. I thought we were back in it, and then it was all taken away.

Ugh.

Im just glad we got a win or two in the begininng of the year, or this team might have been able to challenge the mens soccer team from couple years back of going winless all season.

Oh well team meeting at Ziggys

Ref saw the puck in the net then blew the whistle. There was no "out of position" about it. I saw the puck go in the net and when I looked at the ref, his hand was just going up to his mouth to blow the whistle.

With the exception of the first period, the team played rather well. Frustration started to take over in the third period because of the way Alaska was playing the game. The ref allowed Alaska to shove Spratt around all night and never once called a penalty on them for it. Paluch had a rather long conversation with Wilkins after the game. The team got royally screwed. That's all there is to it. Once they started rolling, the ref took over and that was that. If Alaska plays the same way tomorrow, and gets away with the same stuff, there will be a rumble.

You can say that again... I thought we were going to see some shenanigans tonight, but it was somehow avoided.

WMU all over again? I hope not.

Quick question- What do you think about me bringing a sign tomorrow night that says:

"WILKINS- HOW MUCH FOR A HAPPY ENDING?"

I'll probably do it no matter what, but I thought I'd ask just to see what people think.

Wow, that sign sounds like a great idea. The game wasn't horrible tonight, but it wasn't good either. By not horrible, I mean the boys didn't play horrible. The calls were ridiculous... too many hooks went uncalled... and too many calls were bull. It was just a weird game and I was surprised Bronson stayed as calm as he did.

If Bronson didn't keep the net cleared tonight they would have scored five more goals. Bronson and Dee are the only players not afraid to hit or be hit. It is a physical game.

Nobody's saying it's a bad thing that he's not afraid to hit. People are merely stating the fact that Bronson tends to be the first one involved when things get ugly (especially when the situation calls for it). I'm very appreciative of his willingness to play the physical game, it's something we don't get a whole lot of sometimes.

Here's the deal...don't blame Wilkins for this loss. No, he's not the best in the CCHA, but when we have 2 veteran players take such STUPID penalties (both of them very much deserved), you deserve to get beat.

Had I been the coach, Geelan wouldn't have seen the ice the rest of the game and definately wouldn't be playing tonight. Unger's penalty was obviously frustration coming out...he just sat on the guy and cross checked him about 4-5 times.

Now, for the rest of my take, it's obvious that this team has lost it's heart and will to play. There is way more talent on that ice than what I saw last night. You can just see the frustration oozing out of them - especially when things start going south.

Unger's penalty was VERY stupid and it upset me. The Falcons are better than that type of behavior. As much as we benefit from his playing, I hope he doesn't see the ice tonight. Cheap shots are not a part of OUR game. Let the other teams be the azz holes, let our boys play like young gentlemen.

your kidding right? If you think there is even a slight chance of Unger not playing then you are crazy. Coach loves him, he is one of the players that is able to do whatever he wants and will still play no matter what.
