Another L. 3-2 loss but to the number one team in the nation (other people's opinion, at least.)

The second period is still our strongest, it seems. SOG: 4-10-6 for 20. ND had *only* 32 shots on goal.

Goals by Unger and Svendsen. Assits Massei and Kantola.

Let's get it back tomorrow night!

That was a great game. They came out firing and played the physical game right from the opening bell. I was really glad to see them playing with that sort of fire.

I'm a little worried about McIlrath, he went hard into the boards, feet/knees first and had a little trouble getting up. I hope it's nothing, he was back out there for a minute, but he looked to be in some real pain.

Well, there's only one thing to say-

GO FALCONS! BEAT THE IRISH!

I can't even put into words how amazing that game was. We played strong and the stands were great, united even. In the third period nearly the entire arena was standing, something I don't think I've ever personally seen. It was a great game and I'm not at all upset about the loss. Those of you who were there hopefully know what I mean :)

I thought the student section was really great tonight! What was it you guys were yelling at the goalie during the time out??? Keep up the good work!!

Overall, I hate seeing another loss, but I'll take that kind of effort any game!!! If we come out the same way tomorrow night, we just might pull out a win!!!

GO BG!!
BEAT THE IRISH!!!

I was amazed how well our team played tonight! If we could make an effort like this in ALL of our games...wow!

Admittedly, we do need a better offensive setup, but I was really impressed at how well we played on defense.

Take my words with a grain of salt, though, as I don't know the mechanics of hockey well enough yet.

Loss or not. It's really encouraging to see a good performance against one of the league's best. Under these difficult circumstances it is important to recognize good effort when we see it. Get'em Saturday boys.

We were yelling "David!... David!..." I figured it was his first name, or at least I hoped it was. Would have been pretty stupid if it wasn't. Had to look it up, but yeah, it is.

I've been really excited by the turnout and the volume of the student section the last two games. I wish the cheering for the zamboni guy and the a-band would have happened again this game like last time, but more people are starting to stand for the alma mater in pregame and clap for the a-band afterwards, so that's cool.

Also, I don't know what everybody else thinks, but I really like the fact that they're playing "Sweet Caroline" every game. We decided to request it last game to see what would happen and people seem to respond well to it and it seems to be bringing the crowd together.

Anyway, here's to another great crowd and great game tomorrow.

GO FALCONS! BEAT THE IRISH!

ND not at best last night.

Lets wait until after tonight before passing judgement, ND did not have a good game last night but still were able to WIN. The converse was that BGSU played a better game and still LOST. In my opinion the best player from both teams for the night was Spratt. David Brown was the weaker goalie tonight.

Sadly, this goes along with my thoughts. If that was the #2 team in the country, college hockey is in a very sad state. Take nothing away from our guys, they played one hell of a game. I just couldn't believe the quality (or lack there of) of play from Notre Dame. Clutch, grab, smother, cheap shot seemed to be there game plan. Even after the final buzzer, they still went after Moto. Not exactly the kind of actions one would expect from a highly ranked team.

I actually loved the student section the last few games. I agree about the cheering for the zamboni guy... It was a lot of fun in the Alaska games and really gave us something to do between periods. Also, I totally agree about Sweet Caroline... I had it stuck in my head for a really long time afterward. If you have to, keep requesting it because the entire arena responds to it quite well.

I had an amazing time in the student section and GO BG! BEAT THE IRISH!

So nothing's changed since I was there. Notre Dame was a cheap team all four years I was at BG... I thought maybe with a new coach the game plan might change, but apparently not.

And please, for the love of God, NOT Sweet Caroline. It's synonomous with the Boston Red Sox. BG hockey needs to find a unique song.

The song I always associated with a BG hockey win was that KISS song, "I want to Rock N Roll all night" That's what would always play in the dressing room back in the day. Of course, it got pretty quiet on too many nights.
