TM showed some great speed this season (the breakaway at the OHC was won of the greatest collegiate goals I've ever seen).

Intensity/Heart is probably a toss-up between Tomas, Svends, and Kantola.

Checking I'd have to give to Bronson because everytime he hit the ice you knew he was there to hit somebody.

Other than that, it's hard to think of any other real breakout players. The problem is that with the Trap we run, you don't see a lot of superstars. (Not a slam against any player or coach, just saying).

I didn't bother with any goaltending b/c I ddin't think there were any questions about it. Spratt is the answer.

But one think I have knoticed is that Matso is pretty darn tootin' good with the pokecheck. He often seems to be able to take the puck right off the other guys stick.

Overall- Matsumoto- 3rd round draft pick far and away outshines rest of Falcons
Defensive- Schmidt/Hodgeson both good poke checkers and don't make many stupid mistakes
Offensive- Matsumoto- leads team in points
Checking- Bronson- only on the ice to finish hits
Speed- Sinkawich/Kantola- Russ makes it look effortless/Kantola skates faster when charger....i mean checking the opposition
Puck handling- Matsumoto/McIlrath-both are masters with the puck
Shooting power- Nesdill- Only one willing to show us a point shot, so easy pick
Shooting accuracy- Matsumoto/Petruska- scoring on breakaways is easier with these two
Passing- Tim Maxwell- great cross ice passer always seems to slip the puck through defenders
Movement w/o puck- Whitmore- seems to get open more than others.
Instincts (being in the right place)-Whitmore- whether it be a rebound or a loose puck Derek seems to be in the perfect spot
Intensity/heart-Kantola- always gives it 100% even when losing badly.

Case in point would be when he took that penalty in the first period Friday night and came out of the box with his hair on fire... It's like someone ran over his dog. Beautiful.

I'd say that, or when he took two serious blocked shots to the torso and refused to leave the ice until the puck was clear and play had stopped.

I'd have to put Svendsen in the categories of speed and movement without the puck as well. He's been in position for a lot of great plays simply because he gets down the ice so fast and can make his way to the puck very well.
