So begins my self-imposed 3-month long hiatus from the hockey board.

Have at it, folks.

I personally don't want to hear the bitching that will ensue over all of this..... I posted a reasonable path for those inclined (and have the time) to do something about our current condiiton...... and there has been no response from those fans/former players/alumni/students who want Paluch's head...... do something constructive..... I will gladly sign your petition.

Who knows how to craft an effective petition? Should there be some legal review of whatever is created?

It's time to do more than talk. There are 1,273 registered members on this forum. Even 1/2 of that is an impressive number.

The only thing that I am surprised about it that he has 3 years left on his contract. We must have been using fuzzy math on here. Oh well. This just upholds the standard BG has set. We do not buy coaches out of contracts. They either leave or we don't renew them when their contract expires. Well, just like in football it is time to quit bitching and wish everyone a great off season and a stronger next season.

Yep. Certainly sounds like Krebs tied the athletic department hands on this one. Contract through 2010. Then, they admit they never announced it publicly.
However, the new contract was never announced by the athletics department or the university. The contract was negotiated by former athletics director Paul Krebs, who has since left to become the athletics director at the University of New Mexico.
“I don’t have an answer why it wasn’t announced,” Paluch said. “I don’t know what the protocol is for that. It wasn’t a big deal to me. It was business as usual.”
“I wasn’t made aware of it,” BG assistant athletics director/athletic communications J.D. Campbell said.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think Buddy still had a year left on his contract when Paluch was hired.

I think most of you are overlooking the last quote in this article:
“You look at the teams which have competed in the Frozen Four and we can compete with those teams. Hockey is very important, but we have to make it a priority and give them the resources to be successful.”
That is definately great to hear from the AD. But, you know, Pooch is the devil incarnate. Roll along...

“I truly believe this is a good team right now,” Paluch said. “There’s no evidence of that in terms of our record and what we’ve done, but I do believe it’s a good team.” Paluch

Thats the most ridicoulus quote i've read in awhile. Isnt winning over a long span what determines if a team is good or not. Obviously you can play well in a game or two and lose but that doesnt apply to multiple full seasons.

How about Pooch's quote from a different profession.

"I believe this kid is a good student. Theres no evidence of that as he has flunked out of three colleges but I believe he is a great student"

See you guys in a month or so, right now this program is a mess even by BG standards.

How about I make it a little more simple for you to understand:
Good teams compete.
Great teams win.

If good teams compete by your definition, then we are not a good team. In fact we have been reduced to the absolute worst team in the league two years running.

Good teams compete night in and night out and are winning more than half of their games, nothing personal but are we all getting brain washed here? I agreed with your post for 10 seconds before I actually thought about it rationally. :?

Good teams win consistently. Great teams win consistently and presetn a threat to win the whole shebang.

We aren't even competing for the she much less the bang. Eh..maybe I'll go to a game next year just before football recruiting ends. It's kind of fun to watch the coaches trying to close recruits out at a hockey game

If we win, say, 15 games next year here's what Pooch will be saying " This BG team is so could that we could probably beat the Buffalo Sabres"...Just kidding. ..Having a little fun....
