NHL Playoffs

Post by TG1996 »

Without a dog in the fight this year, I'm watching the playoffs purely as a fan. (Which sucks, btw.) Overtime all over the place so far, which is what makes the NHL playoffs the best thing going! :D

Kevin Bieksa is leading Vancouver in ice time heading into the second OT, though he picked up three penalties in the first period.

GO HOCKEY!

I stayed up and watched the game and at 3 am Versus switched to an infomercial and never went back to the game. Needless to say I wasn't happy.

No sh*t??? I guess I'm glad I dozed off at 2:50ish then huh?

I did think it was funny that at one point after the second or third OT, they ran a commercial that said "Game 1 of the Stars and the Canucks coming up next!"

I don't think it was planned. It was between the 3rd and 4th OT, one second Bill Clement and the boys are discussing the game and the next Elle McPherson is doing Pilates. Might have just been an Eastern Time Zone thing or even a local cable company screw up.

I guess you could do a lot worse than Elle Macpherson exercising as far as the infomercial circuit goes.

To think they were less than 2 minutes away from a fifth OT... sheesh!

Bieksa finished the game with 55-ish minutes of ice time in 69 shifts (I believe that was the most shifts anyone took for either team.) and 8 PIM.

I think the CBC invented televised hockey. I miss hearing the phrase "from the gondola at Maple Leaf Gardens" at the start of the Toronto games.

I don't miss Tiger Williams....stupid little punk

So...the Rangers were the only lower seed to win game 1. Could this be the year that half the first round series don't end in upsets? A lot of hockey left to be played of course. LET'S GO BUFFALO !!!!! (And Vancouver.)

P.S. Steve Mears '02, the former voice of BG hockey is the Islanders radio voice....check him out on nhl.com game radio....
