After seeing the new schedual, where does everyone think we will end up? Does anyone(other than MacMan) think we will finish anything but last?

Hmmm.......yeah.....I'd rather not think about that right now. Seasons to far away and football comes first anyay. But I'm sure we're bout to hear some ideas here anyway.

I have no idea until the season get's close.
Same deal with football and bball. We won't know until the season starts, bascially.
I have my hopes mixed with a dose of realism.....much like football and bball.

I'd like to see us play a bit before I guess. I wouldn't expect home-ice, but I think we'll be much more competitive with Spratt entering his 3rd year of service and our young guys getting used to the speed of the game.

If what I've heard is true, Spratt's got his hands full with Unice. Goalie competition is a good thing...

I'm not a fan of playing Unice alot. Maybe some relief duty or if things get out of hand, but I remember how much we struggled with Spratt in his first year. It wasn't anything against his abilities, it's just the adjustment to the college game.

we will not finish last puppy dog.
we will not finish next to last.
I will say that if last season the guys had not been in the condition they were for the whole season we would have been about dead middle
I would wager that is where end up...my gut says higher, in the top 1/3.
My orange glasses put us solid in the top 3!
I am looking forward to catching some more of these off season sessions and watching the goalies. From a save/recovery perspective and positioning Ive got to say josh plays and will remind alot of you old time fans of a Gary Kruzich and know he played stand up but Wally Charko from a positioning perspective. We have a hot goalie in this guy, Im telling you. I think he could be good this year and gonzo the following youve got to get over and see him.

Perhaps....but no one thought that Kruzich would take us to a national championship as a Freshman.
I'm a fan of playing the best goalie, period.

Whatever the case ends up being, I hope we find our man and stick with him a lot sooner than we did last year. It seemed like we were on a strict alternating basis until into January, and it has to be tough to get any kind of rhythm or confidence not seeing regular time.

If I recall, Miami had quite a bit of success platooning Zakatof with their other guy his freshman year!? Play the best guy. If they are neck and neck, play them alternating till one becomes the best.
Given that, I'll be signing up for season tickets (if I ever receive notice that they are for sale - I can't believe they are not pushing them yet - so much for trying to be a big time program!) and hoping the team plays well. I'm very cautiously optimistic, but worried that I'll be able to solve the PP if I see the same thing just a few more games (no, it hasn't changed in about 5 years).

I agree
and also agree that if we have two solid net minders that alternating is not a bad thing
I hope some of you can swing by and catch them this summer and in the preseason to see for your selves...hum...I could post a movie..I may have to take the camera next time.

Macman,
the only thing your gut has ever told us is that you have extensive amounts of gas. Your predictions hold ZERO merrit as you made the same predictions before last year.
All I can say is Matsy's gone, those are big shoes to fill. We may be on the verge, the verge of two consecutive record breaking years of the worst years for BG hockey.

The way I look at it, it would be pretty tough to do a whole lot worse. God lord willing the Unice kid will help. Hopefully some people (both players and coaches) turn over a new leaf and getting things going in a positive direction. I'm only looking for improvement this year. How bout 10 wins or more.

Matsy was a solid player, but had a lot of drop off from the year before. He also had a bit of a problem with committing bad penalties. I think if you can get a good assist-man on a line with Whitmore, you could have a really good 1st line there.
I'm optimistic of this year because of how young we WON'T be. It was hard to lose Ungie and Bronny, but it's easier to fill 2 spots than, say, 8.

I would think that 12 wins would be a good year, maybe creeping up to the tenth spot. MACMAN the easiest way to predict without getting carried away is to ask if you would put money down on your prediction. This will always keep you honest.
The same formula a Texans fan would have to use after predicting an AFC championship. Predicting with your heart is worthless, because that way everyteam is predicted to finish top 3.
I doubt anyone in the program or on this board would think we can get higher than 8th place.
