So. the all CCHA post got me wondering.

What would your all BGSU two lines look like and two goalies, if you want to do a whole roster that is ok to of all the players plucked out of time and put on one squad.

1st Team

D Rob Blake
D Dave Ellet
F Brian Holzinger
C Nelson Emerson
F George McPhee

Then where would Ken Morrow be in this situation?

Probably next in line for a defenseman in my book, along with Gary Galley!

No argument from me, that is a pretty solid group.

Don't know whether you are talking about guys who had great careers at BG or just guys who were the best players period. I bring this up because Brian Stankiewicz was the best single season goalie I saw at BG, that 77-78 season he had was amazing. He was a bit of head case though and left school after that one year. If you saw Liut play at BG, many would say Al Sarachman was the better of the two at BG, but obviously Liut turned into the much better player long term.

Anyway, basing my choices on who I thought the best players were for any given year here are my choices.

G: Starter-Kruzich'84 Backup-Stankiewicz'78

D: Starters- Morrow'79 Blake'90 2nd Team-Galley'84 Ellet'84

F: Starters-McPhee'79 Hills'83 Emerson'88 2nd Team-Holzinger'95 Wells'79 Ysebaert'87

Wow...just thinking of how fast that line of McPhee, Hills and Emerson would be or how tough hanging out in front of the crease with two guys the size of Morrow and Blake would be...LOL!!

I'll take Byron Shutt.

Byron Shutt was one mean SOB!!! The enforcer has to come from pre '80, which is when the NCAA put the cages on the helmets.

Shutt played when there were no cages and dropping the gloves only got you a 5 minute major. I remember one game where he picked up the other guys gloves after a fight and threw them into section B.......LOL!!

I would take Gino or Duncan any day of the week before Ruchty.

And no one has mentioned my favorite player of all-time, Jamie Wansbrough yet. Doesn't he still hold the school record for total goals scored?

Marc Potvin? He didn't always display the most pleasant of temperments.

Boy could Duncan lay on a hit for relatively small guy. And I loved Gino. He always played with tremendous intensity.

Jamie was also one of the nicest guys to ever don a BG hockey sweater. You might be right about the record, too, RWT. He never seemed to be dominant player, just very good and incredibly consistent, which are not bad attributes.

My obvious choice for goalie is Angelo Libertucci's hair.

It's just a shame he had to wear a helmet and mask, as I'm convinced opposing players would only be able to stop and look in awe at the perfect, never-wavering part down the side...
