Hey gang,

If you're aching to see some hockey, the clubbers will be home Friday night against Toledo, start time should be at 10 unless noted other wise. Saturday's game will be up at Tam O'Shanter in Sylvania if you'll be in the area. Hope to see some of you guys this coming weekend.

Yes, as surprising as it may seem. They've never really supported the idea of a D-1 team because of funding issues and building usage. Their club team is pretty good, they can usually get some good players from St. Francis, St. Johns and Central who don't get looked at.

when i was at bg, toledo's club team was horrid, we would beat them like 8-1. also, players from the privates schools in toledo isnt saying much talent wise. for the most part, ohio hockey is far behind the likes of michigan and new york.

I think that way back when we had one of the top club teams in the country. But I mean WAAAAAY back when. May have been one of the only club teams in the country given that its only hockey and not a real sport.

Que FF. I'll put down a pillow so you have a soft place to land, H2O. I won't be able to help you out with setting of bones, however.

Just a quick correction...Friday's game is at Tam O at 7, Saturday's game is in BG at 10:15.

And yes, Toledo used to have a D-1 team, my dad was their goalie coach until the head coach went bonkers and physically assaulted the other team's coach. The program was quickly disbanded and the thought of bringing one back has never really been mentioned. As it stands, UT's program is a D-3 club team.

When the U.S.wins something important in hockey its a "miracle". In track its pretty much a miracle when we DON'T win the big events. But hey, if a bunch of guys who's name ends in "itch" or who end all their sentences with "eh?" , playing a game with big sticks while wearing grannydrawers with huge socks under them on a surface that's neither land or water is your thing, hey-who am I to argue.

Excellent use of icons, by the way.

Of course, because it's not like every one of the other major sports where you just run around, which any normal athlete can do. Maybe if someone strapped some skates on you, gave you a stick and a puck and told you to score a goal in 10 seconds or else you'll be plastered, then maybe your appreciation for the game will change.

I love all other sports as well, and am not putting hockey on a pedistal, but until you've actually experienced it in a real game, then you have no idea. The speed, skill and downright amazement that these guys can incorporate the physicalness of football, the hand-eye coordination of baseball and the transition game of basketball make it such a unique and difficult sport to play.

So until you can prove to me that you can successfully skate, take a hit and handle a puck, I'll just laugh at your assertion that hockey is just some niche sport that only people will weird names and Canadians like. Maybe someone's been watching a bit too much ESPN, but I with defend my favorite sport forever.

I think my intended use of hyperbole was pretty well implied. Either way, you are going to end up on the losing end of this argument, my bedildoed friend.
