Face-Off Reception Featuring Garry Galley

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Although the marketing/athletic department is shamefully late in getting this posted:

http://bgsufalcons.cstv.com/sports/m-ho ... 07aad.html

Silent and Live auctions items include: Team Bus trip for two to Notre Dame, 4 Tickets to the Browns/Bills game, Blake Bobblehead and autographed Avalanch jersey, team autographed helmet, authentic replica jersey (the new design for this year), Hockey Fan Pack that includes golf shirts, T-shirts, etc. And a few other things that I cannot think of at the moment!! Celebrity waiters will be the Falcon Hockey players!! :-D

I have no idea if it's too late to get tickets, but call Robyn at Falcon Club and check. Since this link was posted tonight, you might be able to get in on the fun!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Garry Galley's speech was AWESOME!! He told about how he got started in hockey and how he ended up at BG. He talked about the fun that he had while he was here, but also about what BG means to him. He talked about winning the National Championship and all they went through to get it!! It was a great speech!! And, although the crowd wasn't large, it was a FUN group! The reception room at the Sebo was pretty full! The guys were great waiters. Freshman goalie Nick Eno was voted best waiter on the team by beating out Tommy Dee in an informal crowd-clapping poll! Derek Whitmore gave a VERY good Captain's speech to the crowd. You can tell there is a REALLY good attitude and enthusiasm with the team members! They are out to prove the polls wrong and earn the respect they lost by last year's finish. All in all, a great evening!!! Well done guys!!! And thanks to Garry Galley, who is a great auctioneer too!!

Also of note, Garry spoke with the BGHS hockey team today after school. My son was VERY impressed and inspired by his speech! He came home and said he was AWESOME!!!

Were going to have a really good season. I think its great he would talk to the HS kids as well and it would be good if the Bg hs slump got turned around this year..last year was rough.
