I had posed the question about tailgating before hockey games a couple years ago, and no one seemd too high on the idea.

Given that I can go into the Falcon Club lounge and drink before the game where it's nice and warm.....

I like to tailgate as much as anyone, just not in sub freezing temps.

I don't ever remember fans tailgating at hockey, but I do remember people in the 1980's standing out in front of the lobby doors 3-4 hours before the doors opened in some downright frigid wind chills, just to get section A glass seats.......some of those folks were crazy. At least that is what I would say as I stood inside the warm lobby and looked out at them...LOL!!!

That's awesome and a bit crazy, but I bet it was worth it. I always get to the arena around 5:30pm before every game to make sure I get the glass seats of the student section. I wouldn't mind tailgating, but I usually just stand in line at 5:30 because I'm not really a "be outside in the cold" kind of person :-D

Back then my wife and I were nuts! :-D These days, however, with season tickets and the Falcon Club 6:00 is about as early as we get there. Enough time for a couple of brewskis beforehand....

That's why it pays to be in A-band. If we start having sellouts every week again, I will have to sign up to play every game.

I hate the glass seats. Too much obstruction to see in corners of the ice. I usually try for 6 or 7th row so I can catch the entire ice. I never understood why people wanted to be on the glass.

I was hooked the my freshman year in 86 and did the same thing. Well worth the price. I even remember smoking my Marlboro Lights in the hallways back in the day. LOL!

Although the new glass is MUCH better, I tend to agree. Back in the 80's, though, the glass was extremely low. So low, in fact, that you could stand on your seat and bend over the glass to high five the players. Once they raised the glass those seats became much less desireable.

I've been hit by a puck, deflected from a slapshot and I've never really had any desire to sit anywhere BUT the glass seats. I can see almost everything just fine.

I try to send right in the corner so I can see straight down the near side boards and behind the net. Ideally right up against the orange railings. I've always felt that gives me the best vantage point possible.
