The Series
This will only be the 6th and 7th meetings between Wayne State and Bowling Green. It will also be the last games the two will play for the foreseeable future as Wayne State has decided to fold their men's hockey program. Bowling Green leads the all-time series 3-1-1. The last time the two met was during the 2004-2005 season on 11/18/2004 and 11/20/2004. The two split their series 7-3 (BG W) and 9-3 (WSU W). Thanks to Drago for the clarification.

11/20: 1-2 L

The Warriors picked up a win and tie with their series against the Saints of St. Lawrence.

BG Drew,

Appreciate the info. Not to be a know it all, but BG split with Wayne State in during the 04-05 season.

Should be an interesting series. Wayne State has a whole team of players that are auditioning for other Division I schools. They already split with Lake Superior earlier in the season and got two tough ties against St. Lawerence this past weekend (Not an easy place to play).

Hopefully we can have a good weekend and get back on track after two hard fought losses.

We should be able to take the weekend the way we have been playing. I would not say we struggled against ND last week...that just a hard fought battle by two evenly matched teams.
Play to the best of your abilities Falcons and youll take the weekend

I updated the Series information. Thanks for correcting me Drago. I try to double check things but sometimes get lazy. I really need to get my hands on a physical media guide.

I think this game has such a great back story. As Drago pointed out every Wayne State player that's not a senior is playing for a scholarship next year. This won't be a team that is going to come out flat any night of the week. It would be nice if BG could pick up some possible players for next year...

Here's a little more information, but the Wayne AD comes across as little more than a tool as he complains that Michigan wouldn't come play Wayne @ the Fairground. He essentially blames the CCHA for the team folding:

I would like to think that they are doing their best and all but in looking at their results, this doesnt look like the Wayne State teams from the past.

Posting a pair of losses to Alaska Anchorage 5-2 and 4-1
followed by a 6-2 to ferris and then rebounding to a tie with Ferris which showed some hope but then they droped a weekend to Robert morris loosing 3-1 and 4-1.
all of this could have been their team just realy bumbed out about the end of the team and not playing well....but even still the recent games
A split with Lake Superior lossing 3-2 and winning 2-1 followed by a 3-2 and a 2-2 tie with St. Lawrence.
We should just manhandle these guys and blow them off the ice...Im with PegcityFalcon here...to considered worthy of current position in the CCHA we need to and anything less is just an AWE s**t

Would one of you be willing to (video) record Friday's game for me? I live in Columbus and don't have access to the cable channels that broadcast the games. I'll replace the recording media you use, at least. Please send a private message. Thank you.

My wife and I watched one of the games at Ferris on B2TV. It wasn't much better than listening to WBGU--one camera, image so small it was tough to distinguish one team from the other--but wasn't a waste of time or money. It was kinda nice in that it made the event available without sending in a complete broadcast crew.

We'd love to be able to see video of any of the games, whether we're present or not. If I'm looking behind the play and something happens with the puck, I think "Dang! I'd like to see that on TV." Or we'd like to see a great play from a different angle, or get a better look at a play at the south end (we sit on the north blue line.)

I think Comcast Local is only in Michigan, so you'll need a Northerner to help you out.

The B2 feed for the Wayne state game was from Comcast and it was really good. Very clear picture. But had to listen to WSU announcer who wasn't that bad.
