As this team slides only one spot in the polls to 19th.
Like we've said we have a good team, excuse me I say DAMN GOOD team, and even with a pair of losses. the folks who vote on hockey must have watched these games and seen for themselves that we played with a tough MI team, and had MI been less approaching perfection we would have taken a game if not both.
This team is full of Falcon Pride...The loyal fans are full of Pride for these Falcons.

Play for the names on the backs of the jersey's that surround you, play for the loyal fans in the bleachers, and make the opposition FEAR the name on the front! Keep kicking ass FALCONS!

That is impressive and I am glad that they didn't slide any more than that. What about other teams performances? Did other teams lose that were around the same spots or behind BG? That would also affect the rankings...sorry for being the pessimist here...This team is very good but just needs to get over the hump of losing by 1 and win by at least 1! Let's go Falcon Icers!!! Keep it going!

Well, BG was 18th last week, so looking at the teams that were two spots from 18th in both directions:

#16 Minnesota-Duluth tied (3-3) and lost (5-3) to Alaska-Anchorage. This week the Bulldogs are #18.

#17 Boston College was idle. This week they are #15.

#18 Bowling Green was swept (3-2, 3-2) by #3 Michigan. Now they're #19.

#19 Rensselaer beat #13 Harvard 4-2 in one game. They are now #16.

#20 Michigan Tech was idle. They dropped out of the poll and ARV UMass Lowell is now #20. UML beat Boston University 4-3 and Bentley 4-1.

and it would seem BU is going to have further issue with 4 players suspended indefinitely for violations of team rules. Good to seem some strong enforcement.
Any word on the heck young Mr C. did by the way and not have a fondness for stupidity i would like to hope the infraction was very minor...like peeing in an ally to get a one game "time out"

I have to admit...this season, even with the sweep by UM, has been quite a surprise. And it's been a blast to follow...gotta find a couple games after the new year to skate on up.

GO ICERS

It is public record, if you are really interested to know what it is check the blotter or police records on the website.. . . I'd say it was deserving of a game or two suspension.

That is interesting, as it had the feel of something that would hang on for a while. I doubt it will matter to much, as it looks like BC, U-Mass and UNH will climb straight to the top of HE...with Maine and Northeastern landing in 5th or 6th when it all shakes out, I just cant see Northeastern hanging in with those fire starting to play now, and this deal with BU will either serve to fire them up, or hold them where they are.

How about Senior Roll's run this season with Clarkson! Seems to have picked up right where they left off last season. My guess at this point is Clarkson, Harvard (good to see those Bulldogs having a soild start as well), Rensselaer, and Princeton as the top 4 in ECAC this season. McConvey have been to see any Clarkson games this season, or Harvard?

MACMAN,
That would be no on both accounts. The only Hockey East team I'll be seeing before the NCAAs is Vermont and they're not having an especially good year. Quinnipiac will be the only ECAC team I see before the NCAA tournament.
I will have seen all of the CCHA though.

As for the BU suspensions, I'm not entirely surprised that they ended when they did. Between injuries and losing Strait and Wilson for the World Juniors, BU would not have been able to skate enough players against Merrimack on Dec. 30 if the suspensions carried through that game.

I guess we'll see if Northeastern is for real on the 28th, eh?
Good luck to the Falcons out in Wisky.

I wouldn't call 5 wins, 5 losses in CCHA play and 4 losses in a row in the league , totally dominate.

Let's see two two goal losses to Notre Dame and Michigan as well as two one goal losses to Notre Dame and Michigan. As well as one loss to Northern. I'd say that we have been a top tier team in the ccha dipite our ccha record
