got a very big commit recently from the EJHL Jr. Bruins in Conner Knapp
6'5" 225lbs netminder
Image
after 730 min of being a shared time goalie like the system were running this season he has 1.51 goal against average.
the Red skins have shored up any questions about their future goalie.

Speaking of Big Ben I watched the UNH MAnie game yesterday and he was the only reason that game was only a 3-0 loss (open net end of game) they are in a bad way. the other item of note was that UNH is either not as good as that ranking or they were playing to Maines level they did not look good either.

I've watched quite a few hockey east games this year and let me tell you...they look awful. The WCHA still looks better than any other, however the CCHA is looking like they are pulling into the same category. Miami just blasted by RPI. Both games looked close and then the third came. I saw Vaive was player for Miami. I hope he is no relation to Rick Vaive. It would be ashamed to see that Rick let a family member join that team.

Miami is just rocking this year....Hate to say it but the Red skins are all that this year and then some. they play all three periods and just score goals
as for the WCHA
Its weird when I think about it lots of folks I knew talked up Minnesota as the end all and other WCHA teams but I just never liked any of them, we all are like that about something...no "good reason" other than you just dont.
I know the WCHA has some great hockey schools but ive never given a hoot about any of them, well a little for ND but its so little I dont even know the names of any players on that team. I hate the Minnesota teams, have 0 love for the vermin badgers, Denver ? nothing i have no thoughts or feelings for that whole conference...
The only love I have for them, stems from their TV coverage, any weekend I tune in on the sports pack and watch college hockey its in my eyes 85% WCHA games then east coast with some ccha tossed in.

I've always rooted for St. Cloud State and North Dakota in the WCHA. St. Cloud because it made the Gophers fans the most angry and North Dakota just because.

If the roster for this year's U.S. World Junior team is any indication, the balance of power is definitely in the west. There are 9 players from the WCHA, 5 from the CCHA, 3 from Hockey East and none from the other three leagues (ECAC, CHA, Atlantic Hockey). There are also four kids playing major junior in Canada and one from the USNDP U-18 team.

Hockey East is just odd this year. I agree that the CCHA is getting stronger right now.

i'm excited about connor knapp. he was originally supposed to be an 09, but with effinger's departure, and the uncertainty around jeff zatkoff (will he return for his senior year) means we need him next year. frankly, i think we need another goaltender immediately because if zatkoff does leave, we're left with a true freshman and a junior, jon whitacre, that's played all of 10 minutes (if that) in division I.
