I had him as an instructor in the the Sports Mgmt program at BG in the late 80's. He was by far the most interesting instructor in the program with a wealth of experience he openly shared with all of us. I would assume the AD has contacted him. I recall Mr. Vivian having a special feeling for BG so I suspect he would be very helpful.

Interesting that Vivian hasn't been inducted to the BG Athletic Hall of Fame yet. He might not have been the most successful coach at BG, but being the first coach and helping build a program, along with what he's done to build the CCHA, seems pretty deserving to me.
Thanks for posting the article, bill!

Jack was my advisor at BG and I also did an internship with him after he went up to UM and was running Yost. He has forgotten more about ice arena management than most people will ever even know.....
He was the driving force behind all the renovations to Yost.....BG would be idiots to undertake this renovation of the Ice Arena without at least consulting with him.......after all he has known the place since it opened.

I think that Jack designed the new arena at Adrian College, which is where Ron Fogarty is now coaching.
That building looks very much like a "Steel Building".
That building cost $ 5 million, but Jack did not have to deal with the same requirements that a "State" facility would have to deal with.

I wonder if he'll be consulted for the Ice Arena renovation?
