Agreed. A fluke goal is also when the puck is cleared along the near-side boards, Al Montoya leaves the crease to intercept the puck behind the net and the puck hits a seam along the boards and caroms driectly into the center of the net. That was awesome.redskins4ever wrote:Goals are not flukes... not when you are working hard infront of the net which is how those goals were scored.
Fluke Goals are when you sling the puck 100 feet down the ice and the goalie misses it.
An almost fluke goal I remember from the early 90's was when a MSU goalie allowed the puck to slip past him after BG's defense cleared, and the pucked clanged off of the post.
That was great! I think it happened two times didn't it? One went directly in and then another bounced right to Unger who shot it into an empty net I think. It sucks we lost that game, we fought hard (in spite of the fluke goals.) In fact, I remember the first one goal we got, I was watching from the best spot in the arena (that is standing behind the glass on the Zamboni room end) and i threw my arms up in celebration and accidentally hit a michigan fan in the face in the process. Seriously it was an accident, and she never came back lol.Bleeding Orange wrote:Agreed. Well the puck did hit off of the high part of the glass behind the net on a dump in, then procede to bounce off of the netting on the top of the goal(supposedly, but the ref missed it so didn't blow the play dead) and land right on a MU player's stick after Sauer failed to catch it off of the strange bounce off the glass. Given, the kid was in the right place at the right time and wouldn't have scored if he wasn't. So I guess you can sum that goal up as hard work and a little luck as well. Sorry, my dislike for JCrew U causes me to argue against them regardless of the situation. It happens at around 1:20 of the video if you wanted to see it, but then again I guess you probably already have seen it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DepRaAa2Sgwredskins4ever wrote:Goals are not flukes... not when you are working hard infront of the net which is how those goals were scored.
Pretty sure that's not the goal they're talking about in this thread, but you're right, that's definitely a fluke.DWhite21 wrote:Well the puck did hit off of the high part of the glass behind the net on a dump in, then procede to bounce off of the netting on the top of the goal(supposedly, but the ref missed it so didn't blow the play dead) and land right on a MU player's stick after Sauer failed to catch it off of the strange bounce off the glass.
