Frozen Four tickets

So next year the Frozen Four is coming to DC, and I would love to go, but what is the best way? Anyone ever scalp there? DC isn't exactly a hockey town (though the way the Caps have been playing, they may be carrying over a high for next year). Also, no college hockey powerhouses anywhere remotely close to DC is a big plus for me as well. Just seeing if I should take my chances with scalpers, getting in below face (I like hockey, but I wouldn't mind taking the cheap uppers) or if I should go ahead and try to get tickets through the lottery.
Also, how well do the powerhouses like Mich State, BC, Wisconsin, North Dakota, etc travel? Thanks.

I don't know much about how to get tickets but I can remember that when the Frozen Four came to Columbus a few years ago that the tickets were sold out months in advance, so I heard anyway. I'm sure they reserve a certain amount for the school's students, faculty, boosters, etc. I'd say the best way to get tickets would be through a site like Ebay or stubhub.com. Here's a link to Stubhub's prices for this years Frozen Four, http://www.stubhub.com/search/doSearch? ... =0&rows=50

the NCAA has a lottery through their website and they have like 10,000 reserved for hockey fans. They are like $160 each or something like that for a book. Of course they say it is sold out, they do the same thing with basketball, but there are always tickets available on the street before hand (even though scalping is technically illegal in DC, probably won't stop them).

In Columbus a few years ago, I scalped tickets at face value. You can get in the lottery but the asking prices are very high. I think it's pretty easy to scalp for the Frozen Four. My scalped tix in Columbus were in the Nose Bleeds but there were lots of vacant seats down low. I moved and got a seat 10 rows behind the Colorado College bench. Good luck!

Ok, so I'm responding to this about 4,000 years too late, but if you're still looking for advice...

Typically scalps are very easy to find. The only time I remember tickets being scarce are in 2000 in Providence when Boston College made it to the finals (Providence being about 90 mins from Boston and a very small arena) and in 2002 in St. Paul when the F'ing Gophers won the national championship.

Also, you can usually get them at the box office close to tournament time. They always hold some back and try to sell them to the locals. Box office tix were in abundance in Anaheim and Columbus. I would imagne there will be a whole slew of them available in DC.

If you need any more info or tips, PM me.
