Looks like an interesting schedule. Looks like a tougher cluster than last year with 4 games against ND and Northern.
Too bad the students will all have gone home during the NC games against Minnesota State and Clarkson.
Any chance of picking up a trip to a holiday tournament?

umm...if i'm not mistaken, we play against ND 4 times EVERY year, as they are our cluster"mates" "partners" "whatevers" right? But what the heck do I know...

yeah, 4 games against the Irish; 3 home, 1 away (?) <corrected to 2-2>
Is this schedule sure enough that I can start booking hotels and flights?

Bill, this is the schedule I got today. They said it's not completely set in stone, but they don't envision any changes.
GO FALCONS!!!!

I was of course, being sarcastic...

I knew that ND was our "partner"
For those that don't know...the teams each have a partner in the league depending on geography. It seems we kind of got "stuck" with ND being the other team without a nearby "built-in" rival.
BG/ND
Michigan/MSU
OSU/Miami
Ferris/Western
LSSU/Northern
UNO/Alaska
Each of those "partners" rotates with another set of partners each year, so depending on the year, you play a certain 3 other teams 4 times each year. This year, it seems our cluster "mates" are LSSU/Northern.

If reference to hosting ND 3 times, I have a feeling that the 11/21 game is in South Bend. I don't think that BG wants to have a football game (vs. Buffalo) and a hockey game going on at the same time. But I could be wrong. Time will tell.

Sorry folks, I made a mistake when typing the schedule. The November 21st game with Notre Dame is in South Bend.
GO FALCONS!!!!

I didn't know the store where Drew Carey and Mimi worked had a hockey team.

I really wish we could somehow eventually work it out to play Michigan twice at home. I guess that's a CCHA thing or something that we can't control. Seeing Minnesota State at home will be pretty cool. I guess the annual massacre of Windsor is over.

Dwhite, Michigan and Michigan State will be our clustermates in 2009-2010, we'll play both of those teams twice. After that, the cycle will restart in 2010-2011 with Ohio State and Miami.
Oh, and assuming the first game is a preseason contest, there are 20 home games to only 16 road contests. That's excellent. I only wish football and basketball could pull off having more home games than road.

Is that what they mean by a clusterf**k?

I prefer it the way it is. It's only about 1h15 to travel b/w BG & Ann Arbor and it's nice to get to see those goons in our building once every year. I also enjoy making the trip up to Yost, so it's nice to have that guaranteed too.

Wouldn't it have made more sense for OSU and ND to be partners (size/history/all that) and Miami and us since we're both MAC schools?
Wait, that would require thought at CCHA headquarters. Never mind.
