No BG players (current or future) were taken in the NHL draft. Samuels-Thomas and McIntosh had both been ranked by central scouting.

Samuels-Thomas is a 90 birthyear so maybe if he has a good year somebody will pick him up next year. He only had 11 points in 56 games in the USHL, I'm surprised he was ranked by CSS.

Here's a draft story that is very inspiring. A young man (18 years old), who was expected to be taken in the 2nd round, pulled his name out of consideration after finding out he had a heart abnormality. His hockey career is over. He will still attend Denver this fall on a scholarship and be involved with the hockey team in some capacity.

That's a pretty cool story. Oren Koules' (the new owner of the Lightning) son actually went to school at Shattuck St. Mary's with Carle and I heard that their families have known eachother for awhile. It's also great that Denver is still going to honor his scholarship. gotta love those Shattuck St Mary's boys each year the Sabres pump out more NHLers than any other school. David has been quite the player wish his family luck in the future. His brother is starting to make a name for himself.

he popularity of high school and prep school hockey in the U.S. has regularly attracted NHL scouts. Some of the leading high school programs to turn out NHL players include those at Phillips-Exeter, St. Sebastian's, Hotchkiss, Cushing Academy, Avon Old Farms, St. Pauls ( Hobey Bakers school and home to first HS hockey game in the USA 1863) Culver Academy and Catholic Memorial.
