The Carousel Keeps Going Around and Around...

Post by BGDrew »

Rumors have been swirling that Coach Reirden could be on the way out to a new job, possibly in the A. An opinion article Link seems to make a whole hell of a lot of sense too.

I beleive that, that is a Done deal. congrats T.R! Good news for us is that while an assitant and a very good one, we will have no major change in coaching Philosophy with the changes, this team is poised to do very well this season and no matter who is added one things is sure....Again we will add another very talented desirable coach.

I wish Todd well. He'll do awesome.

Now excuse me, while I go and scream..... :smt088
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Any ideas on who we can get as a replacement at this late date?

Mike Jones might be qualified...he's planning to coach high school this year!

Geez, since Kevin and Ron left there hasn't been much continuity in the assistant coaches. That strikes me as bad for the team. OTOH, the guys did pretty well last season.

Are these guys leaving because they're desperate to get out? Because they're good? Combination? How does a guy with one year of coaching experience become an assistant in the league one notch down from the NHL?

I wonder if Jordan would be interested? I still haven't heard anything on his status for the upcoming season. He had told my wife he was thinking about going to Europe.

It can't have hurt that Reirden and Bylsma were friends who played together and Reirden has worked at Bylsma's hockey school for years. I don't know that coaching experience counts for all that much when you see former players being named head coaches in the NHL with none. Somebody said on here that he was a finalist for a head coaching position in the ECHL.

I think they're leaving because they are good. Everybody seems to be moving up to either a higher level, bigger school or head coaching responsibilities.

86, I was referring to the song by the rapper Mike Jones in which he says "Who? MIKE JONES!" about 100 times.
