Niagara game

Anyone have any thoughts about the Niagara game on Saturday night? Frustrating to tie 3-3 when you outshoot a team 50-18. The Niagara goalie stood on his head. What did people think about the game?

Niagara was outclassed in every aspect of that game except for between the pipes. That goalie was unreal....

At least one soft goal allowed by Spratt didn't help either.

Let's see: Three games so far this year, we come back from being down 1-0 to beat Wilfrid Laurier, we come back from being down 2-0 to beat RIT and we come back from being down 3-1 to tie Niagara.

At least one soft goal given up by Spratt? How many times has that been true for the last three years? Does anybody know when Nick Eno will be healthy again?

Two more weeks for Eno is what I heard so he should be back in time for Alaska.

What exactly is wrong with Eno? I saw him sitting in the stands on Saturday.

Somebody said a couple weeks ago that he sprained his ankle in practice.

That would be correct.

you need to remember that Julino Pagliero played amazingly against Denver in a 2-1 loss for Niagara where Denver sent 52 shots at him for Denver to Advance last year in the NCAA. i rather think that scoring on 3 of 50 is pretty good, on the guy.
as for Eno, having been rather High on him last year and seeing him a bit before his sprain this year, I have to say that between the two, Spratt noticeably improved his game over the summer, and is the better of the two. That said I am not opposed to running the same system we did last year or letting them compete once Eno is healthy for the single go to spot.
Another tid bit since some of you seem to enjoy our falcon net minders as much as I do.
If you get a chance and want to see a guy who is the top running to come in next year go watch Brach Tiller of Victory Honda play up in Plymouth. He has several offers from CCHA schools, so if he doesnt come to BG we likely see him every year...when we play ND or MSU

Straight from Midgets to the CCHA? This kid must be something. MSU looks pretty set for the next 4 years with Palmisano coming in take over after Lerg graduates and ND has Brad Phillips waiting in the wings behind Pearce (3 more years there if he really is out for the year and gets a medical redshirt). Michigan seems to be a more likely candidate. Would be nice to get a top notch local kid after the Unice fiasco

I found this kid's profile on pointstreak, http://www.pointstreak.com/en/players/p ... sonid=2992 . Judging by his birthday he should be graduating high school this year. By the looks of it, he might not have been the #1 goalie for a lot of his teams if he only played 18 league games one year and it looks like 15 the next. Then again maybe some of his teams might have split games equally between two goalies.

Its not that unusual, seeming every year there any where from 10-20 kids from Honeybaked, Victory Honda, Bell Tire, Little Caesars that go right to D1.

Really? I'm not saying that you're wrong or anything but I usually check where incoming freshmen are coming from every year and I honestly can't remember anyone coming straight from Midget AAA, BG doesn't have any that I know of. I know Kyle Page played for Victory Honda Midget Major and then played a year for the Indiana Ice in the USHL. I know some kids come from prep schools like Shattuck St. Marys and Culver Academy though, which both play Midget AAA schedules.

Precisely the reason Paluch didn't want the shootout. I didn't either for that matter. The shootout needs to go away for a really really long time. Hockey is a TEAM sport. It should be won, or lost, as a TEAM. Yes, your goalie can suck, but you make up for that with the guys in front of him. Or, you defense can suck and your goalie makes up for that. Either way, there's 21 players dressed for the game. Why bring it down to 3 shooters and the goalie?

Luke Moffat, Bryan Rust, Jason Zucker and Jon Merrill all are playing with the NTDP and then will be heading to college. Alex Lippincott, Michael Gunn and Mike Miller are all playing for the Mahoning Valley Phantons of the NAHL, http://www.mvpphantoms.com/Roster.aspx . Jared Knight is playing for the London Knights of the OHL so he won't be playing college hockey. Also, most of those players that you listed aren't graduating high school for awhile. All of those 92's were Midget Minors last year. They may commit while playing midgets but they all play some form of junior before heading to Div. 1, hence why a lot of them are 92's but aren't incoming until 2010-2011.
