BG won the puck possession game both nights, but couldn't get their shots by UAF's goalie.
The home ice announcer was a total a-hole. He was all but taunting BG, before and during the games.

Bill, any word on Tim Maxwell? I would assume he didn't make the trip. I can't believe the PA guy would do that. Even though he's the announcer, he's still a CCHA off-ice official. How bush league and totally unprofessional.
ROLL ALONG!!!!!

I asked one of the players about Maxwell. All he said was the coaches were keeping whatever it is to themselves. He did not make the trip.

During pre-game player lineup announcements, he purposely mumbled and gave disjointed intros of the BG players at very low volume, compared to the boisterous naming of the home team players. Penalties against BG were announced very clearly; not so much when UAF's were called. When BG had a penalty, he sang out the Nanooks being on a power play to the tune of "nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah" (like when we were kids and would sing "Bobby's got a girlfriend").
Throughout the games - both nights - he used inflections that were more like what one would hear at a minor league hockey game, where they try to get the home fans buzzing.
Not the proper time or place, as I know college games. I've been to a hell of a lot of games all over the NCAA, and never heard this junk before. We were at Fairbanks two years ago, and this didn't happen. Must be a new guy, auditioning for "Slap Shot II".
Two of the refs flew back to Detroit on our flight. I mentioned it to them, and they said they were aware of it, didn't like it, and "something will happen". I might write to Tom and Steve myself.
(Edit add): The UAF fans we spoke to at the games were all very friendly. One of them mentioned he came to their games at BG, and he was treated very nicely by the Falcon fans.
